Taking a break from TTC....

Back story -
I've been TTC for about a year. I have had a MC June last year, ectopic sep and sadly had another MC 2 weeks ago.

I have a beautiful dd and I know I'm so lucky to have her.

I have a fab dh who has supported me throughout.

Our plan- 3 months of not TTC, get fit, eat healthy, have some fun - date nights have a few drinks without thinking am I pregnant!?

So who's with me? I've seen some lovely threads when people are TTC so let's have one when we are not!

Sorry to hear about your mc's and ectopic that must be horrible and heartbreaking.

A break might do you good so enjoy it and good luck Smile xx

Umm perhaps a thread about not TTC might fare better on a board that isn't titled 'Conception' lol Wink

I do understand where you're coming from btw, I just know that when I've tried to stop thinking about TTC I've avoided this place on purpose Grin

I'm currently taking a mental break from TTC following a second IVF failure and I've logged into here about once in the last week, mainly to check the progress of thread-mates at different stages.

All the best though, you do need to take a break from it all now and again otherwise for your own sanity, and also I think for your relationship x

Scarlett - yes I suppose conception thread may not be the best place!

Just need some support/reassurance that a break is what I need.

Because of my age, I don't feel able to take a break, but part of me would like to (on 29th cycle of ttc, following a recent IVF MC). If you feel ready for a break, then enjoy it!

PipsWife · 20/03/2013 21:48

Thanks Euro.

It's so hard isn't it?

I'm not sure if I can go through all the early scans and worry again.

I'm 31 so age isn't too much of a problem at the moment.

Fx for you.

At 31 I would definitely take a break after all you have been through. A couple of months won't make any difference.

PipsWife · 20/03/2013 22:49

I think for my sanity more than anything.

I've got a dd already and know how lucky I am.

Ivf sounds tough. Are you going to go for another cycle?

we are taking a break too, well, actually I suppose we've stopped TTC, we are waiting for IVF later in the year and after nearly 4 yrs trying I cant see that stopping now will make the slightest bit of difference. TTC is such a lot of pressure, it sucks so its nice not to have to worry about it!

PipsWife · 21/03/2013 22:37

Raspberry - I hope you are one of those people who conceive while waiting for Ivf Wink
