Hi,

I'm currently ttc and have been taking 400 micrograms of folic acid and 25 micrograms of vitamin d daily for a couple of months now.

I have also started taking the 'trying for a baby' vitamins by seven seas. (Have been taking these for about 2 weeks). They have 400 micrograms of folic acid and 5 micrograms of vitamin d in them.

It didn't really occur to me to stop taking the separate ones but now I'm not so sure.

Should I continue to take all 3 tablets? (Is 800 micrograms of folic acid too much?) Or should I just stick to the mixed seven seas ones? (Is 5 micrograms of vitamin d enough when the separate one is 25?)

I know I'm not pregnant at the moment, so would really like to sort this before there is a chance I could be and do some harm!

I know it's a bit confusing, but any help will be appreciated!

Hi ganetgob didn't know the answer to your question but a quick search of google should help. You can take too much Vitamin D as it is fat soluble but apparently you can't have too much folic acid. Try:

Vitamin D while TTC

Too much Folic Acid?

hi. I recently asked something similar. I concluded the folio acid is probably ok. I'm totalling about 800 mg by taking pregnacare conception and Holland and barratt timed release vitamin b complex 50mg.

folic not folio
