Newbies very welcome provided they meet the entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

Shock at your chart Frog!! How long is your cycle usually??
Yey at your news Pip. Exciting times Smile
Cats is the teacher someone you can talk to? Someone who would welcome your advice? If not I would definitely speak to someone more senior, at least then you've done your bit and can't be accused of turning a blind eye.

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 13:05

Wow, Pip! They don't keep you waiting, do they? That's really good news.

Frog, your chart is beyond me. I think it's going to be much easier to spot a pattern once you start with your proper BBT thermometer though. That high temp on CD18 is a bit of an anomaly. Have you tried discarding it to see what your chart does without it?

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 13:29

Oh, and Frog, if I wasn't on cycle 20, I might be able to convince myself that my PMS is actually early pregnancy symptoms. I've learnt from bitter experience that this is highly unlikely! 6 days to fertility consultant though.

Barking, reading my way back; I know what you mean about expectations regarding the appointment. I've got 1 shot at Clomid followed by twin conception in my head and it's going to be a real shock when it doesn't happen. , why do we do this to ourselves?

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 13:30

Woop Pip. It's great that it's so soon.

Happy cycle has been 25-31 days since i came off pill to TTC. The data I input to FF gave me an average of 28 days but it's now predicting 35 days (presumably to give me a 14 day LP) which I find unlikely. I don't remember them ever being that long pre-pill.

Boodle I tried discarding the CD18 temp (which was taken an hour after normal time) but still get dashed crosshairs on CD21. Would love to understand how the temp dip this morning made it move my O from CD15 to CD21. Oh well will try harder with the OPKs & temps next cycle!

If I was feeling optimistic I'd say that the all over the place-ness means I must be upduffed but I've got a feeling that your temps stay high in that case.

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 13:43

Well Frog, I honestly have no idea why your temperature today has rejiggled your crosshairs. Where's Merk? She's good at analysing charts!

I think temperatures are meant to stay relatively high if you are pg. (Which is another reason why I suspect AF is winging her way to me right now; I often get a slow temp drop in the days leading up to it.)

I'm off to check for spotting for the fifteenth time today.

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 13:49

Maybe FF is more optimistic than me & thinks I'm having an implantation dip?! That would be about right for 9DPO but not likely if O had been any earlier. Why did none of my friends with babies every tell me this could be so complicated? Probably because a lot of them instadiffed the minute they came off the pill

Right also off to check for AF for the tenth time today

happylass · 04/04/2013 13:54

Hmmm Frog I'm not sure what FF is playing at sometimes. This is only my 2nd cycle of using it although I've been temping for longer. Last month my crosshairs moved almost daily - although to be fair I was ill. This month it has put OV at cd12 which is about right but predicted a 22 day cycle, wtf?!? My LP is always 13-14 days. Anyhows, are you planning to PIMP anytime soon? This thread is seriously lacking in action of late!

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 14:02

I PIMPed yesterday Happy (well actually POAS as it was a First Response I had lying around) & it came back negative. Unsurprising if I'm only 9DPO but FF reckoned yesterday that I was 14DPO! FF is definitely female with the prerogative to change her mind at will. I need to bulk buy some ICs if this is going to happen every cycle!

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 16:57

Oh well just been to the loo for the umpteenth time & I had very very pale pink CM. I think AF is on her way. Not a Shock at all.

happylass · 04/04/2013 18:03

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 18:48

Barking, going back to your comment the other day, DH and I sat down last night to discuss what we want to come of this fertility appointment. In the end, it took so long to get him clued in to all the technical stuff, we have less a list of questions and more a couple of pages of notes with a 'what do we want to come of this'? section at the bottom.

Main points that I've stressed to DH are:

  • Thyroid levels are above optimum level for pregnancy and I want them bringing down. (Especially as symptomatic.)
  • If I'm prescribed clomid, will I be monitored throughout the cycle? Will progesterone be prescribed to support the luteal phase? Will they check fallopian tube functionality first? (That's based on what Pip said. The lady who did my dildocam appointment said they looked OK, but they can't be 100% sure from the cam alone as there could be very small things causing problems.)

Hopefully that's not too much for DH to remember as no doubt I will be a gibbering wreck once I'm actually in the room having the consultation!

CharmingCats · 04/04/2013 18:50

whoops! It took away the bold names! Sorry.

Thank you for your advice about the teacher. I think I'll mention a few things to him first, then go higher.

Bunnygirlie · 04/04/2013 19:12

Thanks cherry I needed that slap!

I will leave the teacher advice to the teachers charming but it does sound like you should do something.

All this talk of charts makes me feel left out, who else doesn't temp like me? I do OPKs though.

Oh pip that's fab news, will keep fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to those who are being visited by evil AF!

I don't know what is wrong with me at the moment, really dry skin, flakey nails (mine are usually fine!!!) can't sleep and headaches, feel like I'm falling to pieces Sad

BookTart · 04/04/2013 19:58

Sorry frog. It'll be me in the next couple of days and I've spent all day nipping to the loo to check! All my tests at the fc next months are booked in for specific cycle days, so I can guarantee that this month AF will turn up early and knacker all that.
bunny, I used to temp and opk but gave up after my cp last year because it was making me go a bit bananas. I ought to start again really, but I hate temping and it showed that I always OV between 13 and 15 anyway. Opks never show anything for me, but the cbfm was good. I've stopped that as well now because I'm pretty sure of my cycle 15 months in!

Bajas · 04/04/2013 20:00

Good luck pip

charming I'm secondary rather than primary and something like that would be referred to head of dept for us so maybe head of phase for you? Be careful about tackling him yourself especially if he's likely to be nasty or bitchy about it.

Af has not yet arrived despite this mornings symptoms- wish she would come if she's coming instead of giving me hope! Only day 25 so if she doesn't arrive in next 48 hours could still be a while to wait.

Couldn't get massage this afternoon in the end- therapist said best not to if any chance you're pregnant. Never knew that before so even though chance is slim at this stage I changed to a facial just in case. Was lovely Grin

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 20:44

Blimey, it seems like quite a few of us are waiting for AF to show her ugly face. Hmm...AF could also stand for 'April Fools'. I wonder if she's just playing a cruel trick on us all. If so, I fully expect her to turn up on my flight later!!! Arrrrrrrrgh!

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 20:45

Still hanging on too bajas. AF not here either tho getting some lower abdomen pain too now. If not here tmrw will be my longest ever cycle post pill so time to try a bit more PIMPing maybe...

Cate555 · 04/04/2013 21:54

Charming my sister had the same situation in her school. Apparently it is very difficult to get rid of a rubbish teacher so he is still there but everyone is very aware of how bad things are (the poor children) The principle in her school sits in on a few of the lessons.

Anyway no sign of AF for me either, this is the longest ever. Maybe AF doesn't like cold weather and is awaiting spring. Confused

Cate555 · 04/04/2013 21:56

What's everyone's opinion on going for a promotion in work knowing that you might actually get pregnant?

Bunnygirlie · 04/04/2013 22:32

No AF on the horizon for me, ov week just starting, but oh what to do about it Confused

happylass · 04/04/2013 22:52

I say go for it Bunny. The law of sod will mean you will definitely get upduffed the very time you don't want to! Babies rarely arrive on time anyway so chances are if you got pg now baby bunny wouldn't arrive until January anyway. On the other hand my friend was due on Jan 20th and her little one made an appearance on Xmas Eve. What's meant to be will be!
Cate is your promotion with your current employer or somewhere new? Personally I would go for it as I don't believe in putting my life on hold for TTC. Even if you (fx) get upduffed this month you'd still have most of this year in work.

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 23:45

Well done AF; turn up on the last trip to the loo before we head for our flight. That's going to be a fun plane ride.... Hmm see you after the weekend, Berries. X
