I don't know if this is the thread for me. I used to be on the freakout room threads a lot before having dd.

Since then I've had a mmc (twins) at 10 weeks last June/July and another mc in November. Yesterday I got the faintest bfp at 11 dpo.

Am terrified.

I've had some tests for recurrent mc but they need to repeat some bloods due to staff errors and that appt isn't for another 2 weeks.

Gynae said to take aspirin if I got a bfp before results came back but he wasn't anticipating needing to do tests again (and I've heard aspirin may screw up the results).

Has anyone been in this position? And know what I should be pushing to take (if I do get a formal bfp on Monday Confused )

Thunder and Booty I don't fall into that category (I have a DS), I think I can understand how you feel. When I had my first scan for the then suspected mc and no heartbeat was seen, the sonographer asked if I had any other children. On hearing that yes, I have, she (rather callously) said 'Well, at least we know that you can get pregnant.' Which I thought was really insensititve of her, stupid cow. But yes, there might be a grain of truth in it, although it was no consolation at all for me.

Janie I had to muster a huge effort of willpower not to poas this morning. AF is due any day now, and the test was calling to me, I swear. Doesn't help that it sits on the shelf right next to the loo, on eye level.

Had a rather amusing (well, maybe more exasperating) reaction from DH this morning - upon discussing the eye drops that I'm currently taking for an infection, and that they are not antibiotics because the GP didn't want to prescribe antibiotics as there is a chance I might be pregnant - he stopped, looked rather surprised and said 'That's news!'. What does he think we have been doing? I mean there is a chance I might get pregnant each time we dtd atm! I live in this 2ww hell every month - think I need to sit him down and do some explaining. Honestly.

May Sorry to hear about your mcs, but yay for your bfp!

I'd call your midwife or the consultant to ask about the aspirin - I think you're right, it can screw up blood tests. Maybe they can bring the test forward...?
I'm in a similar position - holding out for a BFP (testing tomorrow), and getting blood tests done, fortunately they are taking them today. I'll also start on aspirin asap I know I'm pg.

However, if you can't get hold of anyone, I don't think that waiting until Monday with the aspirin would make a big difference - if you say that this is when your af is due anyway!

jbrd i think our DHs might be mates!! maybe it's because i sit on mumsnet and dr google all the time that i know more about the whole pg malarkey, but i had to remind mine yesterday that today could be Dday (AFday). i had a night out during rape week and had a few too many and had a little chuck up the next morning and he asked me was it morning sickness aww. (i get theee most awful hangovers and normally have a wee chuck the next day if i've had one too many!)

Hi ladies, room for another one? I found out a week ago at 13+4 that I'd had a mmc and had a somewhat traumatic ERPC on Tuesday. I've been feeling completely devastated as I'd been ttc for over three years and had finally conceived after an IUI cycle.

I'm totally with Booty and Thunder that the one positive thing to take from this experience is the fact that I can actually conceive - I had been seriously doubting that this would be the case.

We have an appointment with our infertility consultant tomorrow to get us lined up for more treatment and I'm hoping that this, and the support of you lovely ladies, will help me to look forward with posifrickintivity (genius, whoever came up with the word!).

And, hey-ho, will jump on the dtd bandwagon 'cause you never know! And, who knows, I might just have some fun at the same time Wink

Welcome Sapphire.
I know the feeling of 'thank god I can get pg'. It's been 14 years since the last one. Sadly being ectopic I also had 'what's wrong with me that this happened' 'and 'I ought to be thankful it didn't rupture'. The last of which feels totally WRONG! Confused

Welcome Sapphire and all the new posters- sorry you have to join this thread.

I had no smiley face today which is good as I'm only day 9 and last cycle ovulated too early. Hoping for a big smile at the weekend!!
I'm doing the sperm meets egg plan and got things under way last night.

Hope you all have a good day!

Ive had a look at SMEP. Ill try, but I have to say its hard going! We have done every other day, and mustering the enthusiasm is a bit hard at times! I think my poor fanjo is a bit traumatised from the MC!
Going to do some sexting with DP, maybe get ourselves down the pub and try to spice things up a bit!

BootyBigFatFridayBanger · 14/03/2013 11:58

Hope fanjo feels better soon Thanks

Hello Sapphire & Maybea - sorry that you are finding yourself here though

Thunder - I am finding weird comfort in the fact that I had a missed MC - which meant it was a problem with the bean, rather than me. By that I mean that my body was trying it's best, but something just went wrong with that egg.
The science of how one cell divides and divides to make a human being amazes me (studied it at school) so not surprising that there are the occasional F*ck ups.

DH is away til saturday - means DS and I are easting toast on the sofa and I am bringing back Twirl on toast as my haute cuisine tonight Grin.

He is unfortunately also away at the end of the month when I am due to OV, so will have to try SMEP until the minute he leaves (Steeling myself for early morning DTD to send him on his way)

Well I am very impressed by all you SMEP peeps.
The thought fills me with exhaustion. I will blame my 19mo DD for that, although that's probably unfair - oh well I won't tell her.

might mention it to DH and see what he says. should get a camera ready...

sapphire here's hoping that the fertile-after-mc magic works for you

Hi again to the newbies, there are so many of us now! It's nice to share this together but I'm sad that you are here too.

fod I read your PMA posts and am nodding along all the way and then I remember I have (TMI!) constipation (thats a symptom right?!) and everytime I get a belly ache I think it must be MC starting! It's so hard to let the fear go, but I am trying for you honestly Grin

pink I'm doing my second digital on Sunday too...fingers crossed for us...I've made my docs appt for 25th hopefuly its to tell good news, not bad Smile Am defo asking for a scan at 8 weeks too...if you don't ask you don't get!

Sorry AF got you booty, what a bitch Sad Next month is your month Smile

Good luck POAS Janie!

JBrd I'm with you on the insensitive cow front...DS is of course a comfort cos he is amaing...but he is no comfort for me re future TTC if that makes sense?

Bad timing choc hope you manage to get it in (if you know what I mean) before he goes Smile

So my internet cheapie lines continue to get darker and I'm pretty sure my daily nausea is PG related so that is making me feel good...bloating is in full effect too, pants are too tight by the end of the day and it's straight into PJs when I get home. Just wishing time away really!

Hi ladies and hello to all the lovely newbies - sorry you guys have found yourselves here - you will find lots of support and hugs all round on this thread!!

Me and DH are roughly following the SMEP although he doesn't really know it!! We are dtd every other day and when I get a OPK we will do it everyday until a negative OPK. So since 23rd feb when my bleeding stopped we have dtd every other day and I still have no positive OPK result - I'm worried that in not ovulating???

We dtd on Tuesday but DH is now away so won't be able to dtd until Friday night - hoping the 2 day break rather than 1 day break won't make a difference??

Strange question so please be kind - there is anything I can do to improve / kick start ovulation (other than lose weight) xx

Ooh shell you have just saved me from a sneaky poa digi tomorrow! I will wait for Sunday and also p then.
Although, what you say about Internet cheapies concerns me a little. How dark exactly? Does your positive line go as dark as the control line? Mine haven't, although they do appear quicker now, they haven't changed darkness in the last 3 days. I put this down to them being cheap and not having as much ink, but am I wrong? Should I be worried about this?

pink my DS is one on sat so I'm waiting till Sun in case it hasn't moved on to 2-3 weeks, I don't want anything to put a cloud over his birthday....I wouldn't be waiting otherwise!! Smile

No not as dark as the control line, still watery if that makes sense? But it was very very faint for a few days so don't worry!!!

Report
shellshock7 · 14/03/2013 14:52

OPKs need a line as dark as the control line IIRC, HPT needs any kind of line.

ark I don't know about improving ovulation I'm afraid. What is the grapefruit juice/ pineapple juice that some people talk about for? Also- acupuncture? See- told you I didnt have a clue!

Ahh phew! I will stop panicking and stop abusing google then. Mine are stronger but yes to watery, that does make sense. But appearing super quick.
I am also waiting for the same thing. And DH is away until Saturday afternoon, I will not be able to handle a bad result on my own so waiting for Sunday is best. I have 3 digis in the house, but DH has hidden them all from me so I can't use them til he is back!

Thunder, what, what did I do? Eeek!
