yorkie I'm a bit obsessed with AIBU, would never be brave enough to start my own post tho Shock

yorkiebilb · 17/03/2013 14:14

I've not read the baby names one though spanish how can anyone be horrible about someone's choice of baby name?

shellshock7 · 17/03/2013 14:18

yorkie and why would you want to know what a stranger thought?! You wouldn't base that decision on what a group of people you don't know think?! And if they slagged off a name you loved it would justupset you, so I think it's a strange forum Confused

yorkiebilb · 17/03/2013 14:38

Agreed shell!

yorkiebilb · 17/03/2013 14:59

thunder try the miscarriage section on body and soul - people seem much more responsive to one off questions on there. I've posted on there before.

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 17/03/2013 15:19

AIBU = "Am I being unreasonable" - a very weird fight club type place at times. it's often a bit like the DailyMail online comments bit - I'm probably showing my naivety but often a bit Shock at the comments.

I am in the middle of a mammoth ebay session today. Need to get rid of stuff before I can buy anything new (and need the proceeds).

Is anyone else feeling like they are in clothing paralysis? I want to by summer stuff but keep thinking "what if I get pg - won't fit into it" which is soooo stupid as I'll now not get upduffed for ages.

I guess I am needed distractions as only on CD5 - aggggggeeeeesss to wait until even sex festival starts never mind the POAS fest (I have 10 internet cheapies winging their way to me Grin "POAS festival")

I have been lurking and thought I would stick my pennies worth in! I have one DS 30mths and had a MC in oct at 12/40 -complicated by the fact I was abroad at the time -grimmo. Had erpc when I got home. Am now (hopefully) 8/40 -hoorah Smile . I am due to go on hols again in a fortnight and feel a sense of deja vu coming on -so am really keen on an early scan. I know a scan doesn't doesn't change what may still happen but last time it was pretty obvious things has stopped developing early on and I would just like to know that all is ok now! I'm a bit nervous of admitting this as it is naughty and some people may think 'tempting fate' but on Friday I phoned my GP and told him I have had some spotting (I haven't) and he is getting me a scan next week. Am I bad?

LittleBairn · 17/03/2013 15:35

bean I can understand why you would do it but what would concern me is that resources are so stretched at many EPU that you could be taking an appointment that someone needs urgently.

beansandraisons · 17/03/2013 15:37

I am bad Blush

icklemssunshine1 · 17/03/2013 16:20

No bean, totally understand. I had an early scan as DID have some spotting & at the scan was told everything was fine, measuring 6 weeks, heartbeat but large sac. Trouble was I knew I should have been 10 weeks, they said I must've for my dates wrong. 2 weeks later I still couldn't shake the nagging feeling so went to my GP and said I had further bleeding (I hadn't). This scan however showed the baby had died. If I hadn't have pushed for that I would've had to wait weeks for my dating scan so see where you're coming from. Hopefully your story will end happier than mine :)

Thundercatsarego · 17/03/2013 16:34

Hi all, hi beans. Congrats on your bfp.

No answer to my question- yorkie or anyone, is it bad form to post exactly the same thing in two places?

yorkiebilb · 17/03/2013 16:45

Sorry you haven't had a response yet. I wouldn't have thought so but not really up on mn etiquette - I say try it. If no one responds its because no one on there has any answers - nothing to do with you!

icklemssunshine1 · 17/03/2013 16:45

Thunder, I'm a MN newbie (long time lurker) so not really too sure of the rules. I would be inclined to post with a little disclaimer at too that the post appears elsewhere. I'm sure peeps won't hold it against you as you're obviously anxious.

Thundercatsarego · 17/03/2013 16:50

Thank you ladies, that makes sense. I might give it a bit more time and then try it there too. I don't mind it not being answered too much- like you say, it's not like it's personal!

Lucky13ForBaby · 17/03/2013 16:55

Hi thunder. Am on my phone and can't find your question. What did you want to know if you don't mind repeating. Sorry.

Thundercatsarego · 17/03/2013 17:00

It was just about finding out about hypothyroidism whilst ttc really. I just put it in conception. No biggy.

How are you doing lucky?

beansandraisons · 17/03/2013 17:18

Thanks ickle, feeling more 'pregnant' this time so hopeful but just want to be able to go away slightly less anxious. Seen enough of foreign hospitals
Thunder -I'm a long term lurker too and no clue on etiquette!

Lucky13ForBaby · 17/03/2013 17:50

I'm loosing my head slightly! Trying to keep calm! Sorry thunder I can't help with your question. Hope you get some answers elsewhere xxx

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 17/03/2013 18:52

Bugger etiquette, post another thread in Chat. If you want, add a note saying you also posted in conception, if you don't want to, don't! Grin
Tut @ being frightened of other MNers! Sod the lot I them! I post where I like, don't say anything I wouldn't say in real life and if I ABU then fair enough. Generally I don't let the frothers and flamers get to me!
AIBU is ok as long as you are prepared to accept that you are being unreasonable and not just plough on in total denial!

Thundercatsarego · 17/03/2013 18:54

Just saw your 'bump' lucky thank you so much. That's really sweet.

First response on there has not helped thunder morale! Maybe it was a bad idea after all!

lucky. You're doing well. Can you get yourself a nice cup of herbal and put some trash on the tv as a little indulgent moment?

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 17/03/2013 18:56

Anyway, my question of the day: OPK. When you ovulate, the line is dark. In the days after, does it fade over a few days, or just disappear all of a sudden?

Thundercatsarego · 17/03/2013 18:56

I want to hang out in saggy's gang. She is tough and unafraid! (which my spellcheck tried to change to 'unsafe aid'. Erm?!

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 17/03/2013 18:58

Regarding the digital tests, apparently they can be several days out in either direction. Iirc it's up to 10 days out! So when it doesn't read what you think it should, you don't necessarily need to worry.

Thundercatsarego · 17/03/2013 18:59

saggy it varies from person to person I think. They suggest stopping poaOPK after a positive because it gets really confusing! I think the only way to know what'll happen for you is to keep peeing and then compare over a number of cycles. which of course you won't be here long enough to do

I randomly poaOPK on day 25 or something and got a positive once Hmm. I like the simple smiley face system!
