Hi has this happened to anyone before and resulted in pregnancy. Ttc #2 finding it very frustration not knowing either way...... Am I testing too early? How long should I wait again as dreading that (-) sign again. Thank you

I was 21 days late, never late ever

I'm 5 months pregnant now.

Give it a week, I suggest getting a pack of cheap dip tests of amazon or eBay or you will spend a fortune, mine unfortunatly arrived the same day as my BFP after spending about £50 on other tests.

twentythirteen · 12/03/2013 17:29

What dpo are you? Goss luck!

Wattage88 · 12/03/2013 17:30

Thank you. I'm usual on time as been tracking. So unsettling not knowing. But don't want to get my hopes up. Do have some symtoms but could be in my head lol. So should I wait one week missed retest if still (-) call doc??

Dpo = days past ovulation? Sorry new to this?

My doctor wouldn't do anything till I was 4 weeks late. And was going out of my mind, cheap tests is the way to go, 15 for about £2. Grin

Hi Wattage yes, sorry, days past ovulation. Sounds like you aren't tracking this yet. It can take up to 12 dpo (with the day of ovulation being 0) for implantation to occur and then it can take another couple of days for the hormones to be picked up on a pregnancy test. Are you certain about the lengths of your cycles? Have you been keeping note?

Wattage88 · 12/03/2013 18:35

I've been using an app to track my period for over a year. Average 28-30 day cycle. I'm currently sitting at 19 DPO according to my chart?

OP posts:
Wattage88 · 12/03/2013 18:36

My last period was 7/2/13

On day 34 of cycle? Sorry all new to this charting stuff

OP posts:
twentythirteen · 12/03/2013 22:32

Yup, CD34, people have struggled over what to call cd1. Some have spotting for a while leading up to the day when bleeding starts properly, and I've heard that when bleeding starts properly is cd1 regardless of the spotting days that preceded it, but I don't know if that's true. Either way it's a long cycle for you. When I started ttc'ing my very regular 28 day cycles (going back over years of diary notations) began to fluxuate from 24 to 31 days.

In order to know when you ovulate you need to temp, or use opks, or learn your bodies signs because it doesn't necessarily happen in the middle of your cycle and there can be months where you don't ovulate at all.

Apologies if you know all of this already. It sounds like you're charting. That was too fidly for me so I don't have any advice for you. Good luck, let us know if you get the bfp!

Wattage88 · 13/03/2013 07:52

Iv not had any spotting nor bleeding. I did use an ovulation stick this month(first time) and it was positive no idea if that makes any difference. Just wish I knew either now, so iv I'm not I can start all over again

What day did you get your positive opk? It's so frustrating waiting to find out. I'm currently toward the end of my 2ww and am also nail biting! The longer a cycle goes the more furstrating. I hope you get an answer soon. The stats on the "countdown to pregnancy" website (sorry I don't know how to do links) would say that you have about a 66% chance of getting a positive pg test on 10 dpo, I don't know the stats for other days.

farmerwife · 13/03/2013 11:05

I am new to this but feeling stressed and felt compelled to share. I am 4 days late (which never happens) but test is neg. I have had 3 miscarriages, one quite late and an ectopic so feeling worried, esp as I know ectopics can mess up your readings. Only used cheap tests...any thoughts?

RainbowBelle · 13/03/2013 11:19

Yes, when did you get your positive on OPK? Usually, most women will have a period anything from 11-16 days after ovulation (called the luteal phase) with 14 days being the average. My LP is short at 11-12 days and I have got pg twice both first time, however, a luteal phase of 10 days or less is not thought enough to sustain pregnancy.

You could have ovulated later this cycle than usual AND have a long LP, so if you ovulated on day 20 or 21, with a luteal phase of 15 days, you would still not have started your period (but you would not be pg).

Generally, by now if you were pg you would have had a +ve but I'm sure there's lots on here who got a +ve after what seemed like a long wait!

As for the cheapies - they are very good at detecting pregnancy when you are established pg, but not so good at detecting early pg. Superdrug own brand are though.

HTH.

I was " supposed" to ovulate on the Thursday. I tested the thurs, fri and was positive. Ah I'm so new to this tracking stuff. Don't want to get caught up in all the charts temps ect... Just very unusual for my period to be late 6whole days never happene before.

OP posts:
twentythirteen · 13/03/2013 14:55

Thurs/frid last week? If so then it wouldn't show up yet on a test. I echo everything Rainbow said (except that I have internet cheapies that have shown a positive on 10 dpo). Hi Farmer I'm sorry to hear about your 3 mc's, I'm in the same boat, but I don't know anything about ectopic pgs. Good luck everyone!

Wattage88 · 13/03/2013 16:18

No the 21st 22nd X

OP posts:
twentythirteen · 13/03/2013 16:26

Sorry, you must have said further up thread. There are people out there who got the positive at a very late stage so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Wattage88 · 13/03/2013 20:55

Thank you

Wattage Anything?

Sorelip · 16/03/2013 17:33

I got a the BFP for DS on around cd80. Now that was a long cycle!

Wattage88 · 16/03/2013 17:53

9 days late today still (-)???

OP posts:
twentythirteen · 16/03/2013 18:26

Sorelip Shock!

Wattage wow. Any signs of anything? Maybe your GP could do a blood test for pregnancy?

RainbowBelle · 16/03/2013 18:38

It's odd but it shouldn't take 9 days late to show even a faint BFP Confused
I can only think you've had a really odd cycle.
Hate to ask but could age be a factor?
