I'm due back at the fertility clinic in a month. At my last appointment they said if I wasn't pregnant by April I would begin iui.
Just starting to mentally prepare myself for this and wondered what questions I should be asking? Will they start it straight away on my next cycle (this would mean I would start the following week) is it normally that quick? And should I be doing anything to prepare myself?

Lastly has anyone had success with iui with low morphology? All rest of the SA good?

Thanks in advance if you got this far! Would love to hear your experiences!

I had 2 natural IUIs (no drugs, timed by scans and OPKs) last year. I just called the clinic when I got my AF (I'd already had an initial consultation), then had a couple of scan in the approach to ov, called them when I got a positive OPK and went in for the IUI 24 hrs later. You'll probably have a bit more monitoring if you are having medicated IUI. To prepare you don't need to do anything other than take folic acid and have any tests they want.

Our two attempts were not successful and our NHS IVF round came up, so we moved on (didn't even use the last IUI of the block of three we bought). At the time, I needed to move up through the ranks of AC gradually to get my head around needing help, so I am glad we gave it a go but if I knew what I know now (that something called natural IVF exists and suits me well and that I would get a BFP on the first go at it) I don't think I would bother with IUI.

Hi, we did iui with the aim of super ovulation, more than one egg. Same issues as you - all fine with both except low morphology.

First iui was cancelled as my lining was too thin from clomid. Second iui used letrozole, but only one follie, so last iui was natural, apart from the trigger shot to time ovulation.

I tended to have just one scan on cd11, then trigger shot timed. It was not too invasive and as wise euro says a good into to AC. But the stats are low and so while we're glad we gave it a brief shot, we have now moved onto ivf.

I'd think yes, they can start straight away.

That's my thoughts, I know the success rates are low, but I feel like we need to give it a try before we have the more invasive Ivf. The clinic that we go to only does medicated chance as they say that has more chance of working. So I can only keep my fingers crossed! Thanks for your replies and good luck with your Ivf journeys! :)
