Finally a positive OPK.. On CD17... Help/advice needed!

Hi peeps

Doing doing OPKs for the last week with no luck... The line got a bit darker over the weekend but not enough to class it as positive!

Just did one on my lunch break and OMG its DEFINITELY positive! In fact the control line pales in comparison!

Today is CD17... AF due to come on 24th/25th (I seem to have 29/30 day cycles!)

Just wondering if this is a bit strange to have a positive ov at this point? Was expecting it around CD13-14... I feel like its really late however this is my first month using OPKs and also chatting my bbt... And I know everyone is different so maybe this is normal for me?

Sounds like you are ovulating late this month for some reason. I wouldn't expect your cycle to be 28/29 days this time based on that fact - you need a luteal phase of at least 10 days to stand a chance of implantation.

If you are getting a positive go home and get shagging quick!

We dtd CD13, CD14, CD15 and CD16....

Finish work at 7pm but just text DH to let him know we're dtd tonight LOL

I came off the pill in December after 10 years so haven't got MUCH to go on in terms of previous cycles lengths but since I've come off they have been 31,30 and 29 days (in that order) which made me think this month would be 28/29 days but maybe not.

just checked and I have definitely got EWCM today as well!!!!!!
Wow .. First time I've ever really checked/noticed and matches up with the positive OPK and bbt dip on the weekend!

Ahhhh need to get home and dtd now!

No worried this means I have a short luteal phase?
Or whether it means this is just a longer cycle this month!?

Hope we have DTD at the right times (4 days in a row prior to today) and hoping to dtd tonight too.

You should be fine with what you have done/are doing.

Don't start stressing about short luteal phases unless your period shows up in less than 10 days. There are plenty of other things to stress about, don't give yourself another one!
