Can I still get pregnant with mid cycle bleeding?

Hi there

I am TTC #1, came off the pill mid cycle on 4th feb and had some break through bleeding. Had 1st proper AF on 28th feb and am now on CD11 but this evening I have noticed some bleeding. It's heavier than just spotting and I have cramps too. I know my cycle has probably not settled down yet but can I still conceive with this bleeding? OV is supposed to come this week so we were going to try DTD as much as possible.

I have mid cycle bleeding and asked the GP and he said its my body reminding me I'm still fertile and to abstain from sex if I wasn't wanting any babies at that time...

It's part of mittlesmertz along with ovulation pain apparently

Thank you for your reply. Does anyone else have any experience of this? I'm thinking maybe it's because I haven't been off the pill for that long and my cycle is still a bit messed up? It's disappointing though as I wanted to try properly this week as thought OV would be here but now I'm not sure what's happening!

I've heard and so has DH that you're at your most fertile while AF is around. Not sure why! I'm mid cycle and TMI I know but the mess and uncomfortableness will be worth it!

I only came off Cerazette on the 2nd march and my first bleed started on the weekend so we shall see! I doubt I'll get a BFP anytime soon; I'm not a lucky person:(

I wonder about this too, surely if there is brown blood coming out, then the swimmers are having to go against the tide?
