Ive just read this horrifying statistic online.

Surely it can't be true? Apart from myself everyone I know who has had a c section (about 15 people) have had at least one more baby.

30% seems high. Great. Another reason to think I'm infertile.

I really could curse myself for having the c section first time round. I am certain that if I'd had a natural delivery I wouldn't be in this position now.

where did you read that??
i did read it affects future pregnancy, but not much, and not necessarily linked to anything physical from the c section either

I searched c section infertility on google and it came up with a guardian article with statistics. 30% is a lot isn't it?

What a bunch of bollocks. And that, right there, is my scientific opinion!

Unless of course we're talking about emcs's carried out in the back of a van with a rusty butter-knife on a bouncy road in mosquito country...

I cant possibly see how that coud be true. Every woman I know who has had a section has gone on to have more children, including me.

That guardian article is 11 years old and the study is based on 165 women who underwent emergency c sections. It also says that a third suffered long term fertility problems, but not that a third were infertile. In other words don't base your conclusions on it :-)
