Talk to me about OPKs and fertility tracker apps

I understand how to use an OPK but I just wondered whether they are worth using? And if so where do you ladies get them? They seem very expensive.

Similiar question about fertility/period tracker apps, are there any benefits to using them over just noting down the first date of your period? If so which one do you recommend?

I haven't been using OPK'S but have downloaded My Cycle onto my tablet. It lets you fill in how your feeling, tiredness, cramps, etc. I suppose its another way to try and read how your body works and whether there's a pattern?

OPKs are v cheap on amazon here
I use OPKs as they give me an early warning of when I am going to ovulate (although that's not the same for everyone) so we can be sure of my fertile period. I also temp to confirm O, therefore I know the reason I am not yet pregnant is not down to bad timing or anovulatory cycles

Sorry posted too soon. Fertility friend is great as an app if you are temping. The difficulty, without using OPKs and/or temping, is that the first day of your period isn't the greatest indicator of when you will O as it can vary from cycle to cycle

I use "My Cycle Plus" on my iphone and I love it - really useful and also using it to chart my BBT

OPKs are brilliant. The ones in the shops are expensive but you can buy them very very cheaply online via ebay/amazon/home health/access diagnostics. The advantage of them being so cheap is that you can use them more days per month too.
