Moon that is very philosophical of you & the best way of dealing with it I think. Yes it's painful, a pain you can't describe & like no other but we all handle pain differently & like someone said earlier "that's what the drugs are for"! By far my best labour was the third one. It was dramatic as I had to go to hospital in an ambulance but it was quick & this time around I didn't try & put a brave face on it I screamed like a banshee & that seemed to help! There is no such thing as a 'normal' birth, they are all so different, I'm just so looking forward to hearing yours. Smile

Thanks for asking about me. I was hoping to come back tonight with some good news but I had a hospital appointment late this afternoon & although its not bad news, it wasn't the news I wanted. I was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer 5 weeks ago. It was caught early & small (they thought). I had an op to remove the affected area a couple of weeks ago, had my follow up appt at 4pm today but the area was bigger than they thought & they found another bit. Anyway, it's hopefully not a big deal. I have another op on the 26th where they will take a bigger bit of my boob out & hopefully that will be that. Smile

moonmrs · 28/08/2013 21:59

Shock mls I don't know what I was expecting you to say, but it wasn't that. I'm really sorry to hear that. You do sound very grounded about it, I hope you're managing to deal with it all ok. I hope that its been caught early enough and you'll make a full recovery, they can work wonders these days. I'm a bit shocked to write anything useful to you! I'm glad you came back to tell us, we can weeble with you and be here to offer Brew and Cake when needed! Look after yourself, thinking of you.

MummysLittleSunbeams · 28/08/2013 22:02

Thank you moon. Envy Trying to hug a heavily pregnant woman is not easy! Wink

moonmrs · 28/08/2013 22:03

Sideways hugs are in order these days! Otherwise I'd have to develop mr tickle arms....

Rumours · 28/08/2013 22:30

Big huge hugs mls im so sorry you are going through this. I am here to weeble with you. Hand holding and hairstrokes and laughs and tears, anytime lovely. Xxx

4everhopeful · 28/08/2013 23:11

Oh god mls Shock you poor soul... Sad What a thing to go through, but being caught early is absolutely the key, its very treatable nowadays isn't it? My mum beat it 11yrs ago now, lumpectomy like you, radiotherapy, god willing it stayed away... You sound very stoic and positive, the best way to be, how crap they found another bit, but good they are on the case.. Did they remove and biopsy your lymph nodes from your armpits? That's always a good indicator? Huge hug for being brave and being the fighter I know you are... Here for you whenever you need... xxxx

Oh mls Shock So pleased to see you back, you have been missed, but oh my goodness I wasn't expecting you to say that. You poor thing Sad It sounds like the hospital is on top of it though, and thank goodness they've found it early. Do you know if you're going to have radiotherapy? I have a friend going through exactly the same thing at the moment. She went to the doctors because she was feeling tired, and they discovered she had breast cancer. She's currently going through radiotherapy - I'm due to see her in the next few days so I'll find out more then.
This must have been such a shock for you, something you think will happen to other people but not to you. I'm sending you a big hug and some virtual Belgian chocolate... Can't tell you how glad I am you came back to the thread, I just know everyone on here will want to support you as much as we can Smile. Lots of love xxx

MummysLittleSunbeams · 29/08/2013 13:54

Thank you lovely ladies. Thanks Yes it was a huge shock as it was my first mammogram. I didn't have a lump. Absolutely no symptoms but I have a family history of breast cancer so managed to get an early scan. Up until my appt yesterday it was all very unreal, it felt like it was happening to someone else. Even when I had my op it still didn't feel real. Now it feels real & now I feel like I have 'cancer' written through me like a stick of rock. Anyway I'm not into self pity & I'm not looking for sympathy but you guys really are the most supportive bunch I've ever known! Smile

Lets talk about something a little less gloomy - moon how are you doing?? Hope you have your feet up & are flicking through the latest copy of mother & baby!

CloudOfStarlings · 29/08/2013 14:54

Oh mls you're amazing.. have texted already cos didn't have time to post earlier but just wanted to add my support & encouragement here too. I know several people who have been through it in the last couple of years & it truly is crap but thank goodness you had that mammogram! We're all here if you need a cry or a good laugh to distract you!

moon just so so excited for you! When is the actual due date? Want to start the sweepstake! That's great not to have much of a birth plan, means you can't be too disappointed! For me the anticipation of labour was much scarier than the actual process both times.. it is actually an amazing thing to go through :) fab that you're not scared though, means you have confidence in your body which will help loads!

Hi shroom hope all going ok for you?

sabs how are you lovely? Sorry if you've already said but how did the breastfeeding go in the end? Can't remember if it quite got off the ground with your ds.. he is gorgeous btw!

And 4ever hope you're ok too & coping with 2! So not long til our babies are in school! 2 weeks today for my ds1!

Wedding was absolutely lovely, such a gorgeous day with loads of lovely personal touches. I don't have a pic of bride & bridesmaids but will try to get hold of one to show you all!

moonmrs · 29/08/2013 19:19

mls just to add to the others stories, my nan successfully recovered from breast cancer, she is sadly no longer with us but it wasn't the cancer that got her in the end. Its crazy that you had no symptoms, how lucky to have had it caught so early, someone out there was looking out for you. Can imagine it must all be very scary and hey if you can't get the support you need from us here then where can you?! I do love how this thread always pulls together in times of need. Yes I do have my feet up! Have had horrible puffy feet lately so keeping my feet up whenever I can, am being a proper lazy bum this week!

cloud due date is 17th Sept, I don't think he'll come til the 20th, by my dates anyway, but dh thinks he'll be early...

Has anyone heard from mrskate? I think of her often and hope she's ok.

CloudOfStarlings · 29/08/2013 22:59

Ooh yay, ok let's get betting..

Cloud - 22nd Sept - 7lbs12

CloudOfStarlings · 29/08/2013 23:00

(ps no not heard from kate...we could always pm people and they should get an email to let them know)

Shroomboom · 30/08/2013 08:59

mls my goodness me, thank goodness you got a mammogram done! You are incredibly lucky to have caught it early! Let's hope you only get positive news from now on.

moon glad to hear you have your feet up, it's horrid when they swell! At least you can relax now, am sure everything must be prepared and ready to go! Your bump pic is lovely btw - you look beautiful!

cloud and 4ever can't believe your respective ds and dd are starting school! Where did that time go Confused Have they got little uniforms to wear? So cute!

rumours hope all is well with you?

All fine here, little one kicking away especially after I eat Grin Like you moon it doesn't feel real, and I think we're going to have a big shock when we finally have the baby in our arms! I still panic though when I don't feel movement, think I'll be worrying excessively all the way through tbh. I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow, can you believe it?!

Cloud - 22nd Sept - 7lb 12
Shroom - 19th Sept - 8lb 8

CloudOfStarlings · 30/08/2013 09:44

Aww shroom 19 weeks! I panicked about lack of movement too so I'm sure it must be even worse for you.. only 5 weeks til viability, it will all fly by now I'm sure. Will you find out the flavour??
Yes ds does have uniform..it's optional for the preschoolers but we got it for him, little school coat is just too cute!

Shroomboom · 30/08/2013 12:07

Oh bless him, hope you take lots of pics on his first day! Will you post one up for us?

Not going to find out flavour, I'd quite like to know but dh is adamant he doesn't and I think whatever we do we should do together... DS thinks it's going to be a girl but he wants a little brother - we shall see!

MrsKate · 30/08/2013 13:36

Hi girls
Sorry ive not been around I just took at step back mn for a while .

Moon thank you for thinking about me that's really nice Smile

I'm still here ttc Hmm I'm getting very frustrated and upset that I won't be pregnant when my due date arrives in a few weeks Confused xxxxx

Il catch up and be back soon xxx

Congrats shroom xxxxxx

moonmrs · 30/08/2013 13:40

cloud you are a genius, why didn't I think of that! I've sent mrskate a message, I do worry when we don't hear from people.

A sweepstake - for me! I never ever would have believed I'd be having one of those Grin I'm gonna join in too, am I allowed?

Cloud - 22nd Sept - 7lb 12
Shroom - 19th Sept - 8lb 8
Moon - 20th Sept - 9lb exactly

shroom I am so excited for you, I can very clearly remember the 20 week scan and it was around then that I felt him move a lot all the time, very reassuring. My little man also used to wake up at every meal time! Now he's just always awake Hmm And last night was no exception - has anyone experienced this before - he was awake alllll night, kicking quite violently he was obviously trying to get somewhere and wasn't resting til he got there. It made the whole bed shake! I think he was adjusting his position as today I appear to have baggy sides of my belly and very hard at the front? So now I look quite pointy compared to before! His head is still down from what I can feel. He's been moving about since so I don't think he's in distress at all he seems to be comfy now with the odd few kicks and wriggles every 10 mins or so.

moonmrs · 30/08/2013 13:42

mrskate I must type too slowly, you beat my post! Good to see you checking in, thank you for letting us know you're still around, totally understand its a hard place to be at times we all know how that feels sadly. If you need us just shout, there's always someone here, look after yourself xxxxx

MummysLittleSunbeams · 30/08/2013 21:32

Why can't I copy & paste?? Angry

MLS - 21st sept 7lb 10

Staying with my parents in Kent now. My niece is getting married tomorrow. My two girls are going to be flower girls & ds is going to wear.......A KILT!!!!!

Shroomboom · 30/08/2013 21:51

mls have a lovely time tomorrow, your three sunbeams are going to look so gorgeous! Will look forward to the photo's going up on FB Smile

moon I don't remember ds ever wriggling around that much, but my tummy did change position massively in the last couple of weeks. It went lower and lower until ds had no choice but to come out Grin I remember I kept taking photo's because I couldn't believe how low my bump was getting! Has yours gone lower do you think, or just pointier?

mrskate lovely to see you back of course, but so sorry to hear things are tough on the ttc front. When is your due date? I shall be thinking of you...

Must go, went out for dinner with our best man this evening and I have major indigestion, grrrr. Need to sit and veg with a cup of black tea I think Grin

CloudOfStarlings · 30/08/2013 22:29

Cloud - 22nd Sept - 7lb 12
Shroom - 19th Sept - 8lb 8
Moon - 20th Sept - 9lb exactly
MLS - 21st sept 7lb 10

MLS cuuuuute about the flower girls & kilt!!! We need to see a photo of that!

moonmrs · 31/08/2013 14:10

shroom my bump definitely has dropped which I'm quite glad about as it means I get less kicks in the ribs! I have discovered a bruise on my belly, do you think he did that in that in the night the other night?! Hmm

mrskate were we due around the same time? I know that must be so difficult for you. I remember both times on here when people were due on my dates, its both hard but strangely comforting at times. Thanks

MrsKate · 31/08/2013 19:36

Hi girls

Both my due dates are the first week of October Confused

moonmrs · 31/08/2013 20:16

oh mrskate double whammy huh, that is not very nice Sad there are plenty of hands to hold though, and you can remember your little ones here whenever you need to

CloudOfStarlings · 31/08/2013 22:55

Here's a hand mrsk
It will happen for you, just look at moon and shroom who never thought they'd be here :):)
