when do you take a test?

Ttc dc number 2. Trying to stay relaxed about it and not get obsessed about dates etc...this is the second month trying.

Anyway, my period is 2 days late. When is the best time to take a test? I'm happy to wait a few days if this is recommended, or do I do one today?

As your period is late, test away.

Today is fine. The most sensitive tests work from 6 days before your period is due, though they don't always pick up a positive. The likelihood is that you will get a BFP if you are now pregnant

So if I am pregnant my hormone levels will be high enough?

Should be. In some cases it takes a bit longer, but on the ClearBlueDigital and First Respnse tests they claim that 99% of people would be picked up on day of period

I bought a whole load of pregnancy test strips (and LH ovulation strips) off eBay for a few quid so could test away without worrying about wasting an expensive test. I fell pregnant first go so was left with loads!!!

It came up positive 5 day pre period due date so you should be fine to go ahead and test now. Good luck x

I'm near a chemist now but I really don't want to buy one...I'll just think about it all day and end up doing it in my work loo!

Also u feel like I have severe pmt, so unlikely? Crampy tummy, exhausted and soooo spotty! Really sore spots. Boob feel ok, first time round my boobs were agony!

Congratulations Harverina! Good news. I think I will wait to test when time comes (in about 10 days or so...) I don't want to get into the stress too early. I will let pass one or two weeks :) ahahah! I will try, but most likely I will just test right away!
