We've run out of room on Karbea's Jan IVF thread and it is too much fun to stop! We're all getting into comfy clothes and enjoying the side effects and surprises (and occasionally some hand holding).

shazza what fab news....totes amaze balls!

euro thanks for the low down on the chem preg...you have been through so much. I'm also feeling low today the come down off these bad boys isn't fun!

noks sounds like you are well on your way to great bunch of follies

AFM...the witch is showing signs of arriving major cramps and moods. On the up side did have 2 lovely glasses of red, no white gunk to contend with, and am eating what the hell I like...!!! I would rather be in the other club though...sorry feeling a little low.
Also clinic did finally call this morning, very apologetic and full of sympathy. The are sending me a follow up appointment date to discuss next steps.

Hi to everyone else hope your Friday evenings have been fun, enjoy the weekend

Nokkie73 · 08/03/2013 23:46

Was just wondering about you honts. Glad the clinic have apologised - it was a pretty crappy way to treat you considering. Sorry the witch is making you feel like a packet of poop. I really hope the clinic can come up with a plan for you. Hope you feel a bit better in the morning.

Noks x

keepitgoing · 09/03/2013 04:15

Glad the clinic finally called hont, hope you get a quick appointment.

nok that sounds like a good number of follies, just growing nice and slow :)

shaz am still so happy for your miracle FCFU!! I guess we all have a chance naturally, it's just small, but can happen!

As for me, 7 fertilised normally!! Grin which is about average fertilisation rate. Now we have to wait till Monday to see how they're doing.

Already had to phone the clinic as I didn't put the cyclogest in the fridge. They eventually understood and said as long as it was in a/c that's OK. Seriously, why tell us these things when just out of theatre and dh not there?!

Agree, these candles things ming.

Nokkie73 · 09/03/2013 08:25

keep way to go with your seven. That's a really good number. I spoke to my acupuncturist yesterday and she again told me that it's not about getting loads of eggs. it's all about smaller numbers of eggs and quality, quality, quality. Seven fertilised is brill. You must be chuffed.

Has your mil gone yet ? Grin ? X

keepitgoing · 09/03/2013 09:16

Thanks nok we are happy. The clinic seem certain we'll go for Wednesday ET so are assuming at least on we'll be a blast. I would be so happy with one, but even more if we had any to freeze.

I think you're right about quality. I was googling and it seems in the States people often get 15-20 eggs but still only one or two to day 5?

Mil left this morning thank god Grin

HontyTont · 09/03/2013 11:07

Morning all

keep way to go on the fertilisation!

Witch has landed with vengeance but I feel strangely better...it's time for a new start and to look forward :)

Going to see the folks today, out for dinner tonight so that will help pick me up I'm sure

Hope you all have a happy Saturday

Xx

Dildals · 09/03/2013 11:28

What, does the cyclogest need to go in the fridge too? Is this another memo I missed? I dont think the leaflet says anything about refrigerating it.

I had 20 eggs i think but only 3 made it to blast stage so yeah it is about quality. And no frosties either.

keepitgoing · 09/03/2013 11:50

It doesn't need to go in the fridge in the UK! Just needs to be below 25... Here it's more like 35!

Hont have a good day x

Sharonbenn · 09/03/2013 16:39

Hello girls. I hope you are having a nice weekend.

Noks steady growth is good. You don't want to pop! I understand the fear. Take it 1 step at a time. Acupuncture is great isn't it? I have found it a massive help. It's right it is quality all the way. Are you ok with the stims? Do you feel very swollen?

Honty I'm sorry you are feeling low. I hope you are having a good day with your family. And hopefully the appt will give you some answers and options.

Keep. Yay! What a brood you are developing. It sounds really positive and encouraging. I wish your little ones loads of healthy growth. Americans always go large and it's not always better Wink

Choco how are you doing symptoms wise? There is always a chance. I've got a friend who is pg naturally now after 3 ivfs and she was told that was it for her and she had 0 chance!

Scarlett fairy dildals north Vall and euro how are you all doing? Thinking of you all.

Del how are you doing this weekend?

I hope I haven't missed any one.

Dildals I'm afraid this is the point where you can cut and paste back to me the advice that I gave you a few days ago cause I am FREAKIN out!!!! I simply can't get my head around it all. I have been preparing my body and mind for months for treatment and now this. I know it's great of course and please don't think I'm ungrateful but I've been preparing for EC and ET and thinking about 3 or 5 day embies and knowing how big they are and now I'm lost. I have no idea how big this baby is I feel guilty that I didn't even know that it was busy growing and implanting and now I've got to look after it and I havent read that bit yet. I feel like I've been moved up a set at school and I havent done the homework.

No chance of me being an earth mother. Ive still got my wax booked. I'm wondering how high heels I'm allowed to wear and if I can still dye my hair next week. Anyone know?

Sorry to offload.

Loads of love to you all. Shaz xxx

Nokkie73 · 09/03/2013 17:33

Shazza I completely get you freaking out. Don't forget, you've had a big old shock ! You'll be fine, just take it easy and NO STRESSING ! You 'll be ok in your new class. We'll still be behind the bike sheds listening to Wham, trying to stop norf from snogging her hand, saying smutty things about pessaries and cheering you on.

Thanks for all your comments about slow and steady growth. I know that's the best way.....hopefully. Just wish ovaries didn't feel as though they were going to explode every time I have a wee. Is this common ?

Hope you've all had a nice Saturday.

Noks xx

EuroShaggleton · 09/03/2013 17:50

Nice fertilising keep (or should that be Mr keep)!

Create did a presentation at the open day that showed that no. of eggs didn't equate to more embryos. They also said the "best" egg will usually be the naturally selected on that you would have ovulated anyway. So huge numbers of eggs doesn't guarantee anything. My friend had 36 eggs. She ended up with 4 usable embryos, that were transferred over one fresh cycle and two frozen. She got her whole family from that, but it shows that more eggs doesn't always mean more embryos to transfer.

honty I'm glad the clinic got back to you eventually and was suitably apologetic.

shazza I get the freaking out. I was in complete shock when I got my BFP. I couldn't get my head around being in the "preggo club" rather than the "endlessly ttc club". Once I got my head around it, I absolutely loved it. It was like my happy little secret growing inside me as I went about my daily life.

I stuck with the high heels. I was undecided about hair dye. It seems that foils are ok. Opinions differ on other dyes. It's a personal decision. (No waxing for me - I got my furry bits lasered years ago).

Nok I was told that during stimming, the ovaries grow from the size of a walnut to the size of a grapefruit. And this is over around 10 days. It's no wonder you can feel them! Not long now to EC.

Delilah how are you doing?

I'm doing ok. I've spent the day visiting friends I hadn't seen in ages. It was really nice. I've had some mild-moderate cramps, but knicker watch is thus far uneventful.

Nokkie73 · 09/03/2013 18:10

Hey euro

Glad you had a nice day. Have you completely come off the waxy tabs ?

Nx

Nokkie73 · 09/03/2013 18:12

36 eggs ! Really ? Was she quite young ?

EuroShaggleton · 09/03/2013 18:33

Yep, completely off.

I think she was 31/32. She had no ishoos - they had icsi because her husband had a very low count.

That was at Guy's, btw.

Sharonbenn · 09/03/2013 19:18

Thanks girls you are so supportive and generous. I'm still behind the bike sheds with you wearing inappropriate shoes that I changed into once I was out of sight of my mum (of course no daughter of mine will EVER do thatSmile) but I'm just not fagging it and drinking diamond white for a while. Oh my, I remember my first diamond white. My family still refer to 'the diamond white experience!'

36 eggs. Oh wow! But it only takes one Grin.

Love xx
Ps I've changed into my pjs already. I needed the elasticated waist today.

Nokkie73 · 09/03/2013 19:37

Omg, diamond white. And K cider. Snakebite and black anyone ? Those were the days Grin. No wonder my brain is addled !

EuroShaggleton · 09/03/2013 20:10

Shaza I got the nightly bloat really badly - I'd be fine in the mornings, but straining at the seams of my clothes by the evening.

Sharonbenn · 09/03/2013 22:20

I loved snakebite and black.

My belly is round and hard! But maybe that is the risotto I've tucked into tonight.

Night girls. Until tomorrow Xx

keepitgoing · 10/03/2013 02:30

shaz don't freak out! You do know how big your emby(s!) are. You'll be fine. Just carry on as you are, I reckon. What's all this about high heels...?

euro thanks as ever. Interesting re Create, though they are selling natural/mild. My clinic only ever said they wanted 5-10 eggs. 36 is crazy, she must have been huge! I hope that things get moving for you soon, it must be v hard being in this stage.

choc are you going to test early?

Sharonbenn · 10/03/2013 09:53

Morning everyone. How are you all doing today?

Keep - I'm abit of a one for shoes and I've got some towering pairs, one I refer to as my porn shoes. Is it unseemly for a pg woman to wear them? Smile. Obviously not now. But as you all know it's hard for us not to keep jumping ahead.

Ive got to do something about my roots. I'm going to google about the hair dye. The googling never stops.

Loads of love to you all. Shaz xx

ScarlettInSpace · 10/03/2013 10:34

Mornin all,

shaz I've been told about high heels I
Increasing chance of mc, but I don't know if that's because you're more likely to fall lol! I only have high heels so this will be a problem for me!

euro I do tend to lurk in and out of the 10+ thread as its the first thread I found here, same with the BESH tbh cos you lot make me laugh, but I'm infrequent enough on this thread and the brooking one that I don't feel I can commit to any more iykwim! Please pass on best of luck to pout and let me know how she gets on.

I had a rubbish day yesterday, had to do an extra stim and cetrotide in the morning so felt like shit all day, culminating in tears because I felt sick and couldn't decide between nandos or pizza Hmm

Bit better today, this time in 24 hours they will be staring the procedure! Scared, nervous, excited, pathetically hopeful & nauseous pretty much sums me up.

I'm off to sports direct to get a sports bra today because I've had to sleep in a tight vest top for the last 2 nights due to the pain and I'm guessing this won't get any better once the pessaries start next week...

I'm also mentalling like mad that there won't bd any eggs there, or that if there is then they won't fertilise, this is definitely contributing to the nausea! Will try song retail therapy this aft to try to take my mind off it...

Hope you all have a nice Sunday!

ScarlettInSpace · 10/03/2013 10:48

*some retail therapy. Although I may sing a little song or 2 in my head while I'm walking round the shops Grin

EuroShaggleton · 10/03/2013 10:58

Scarlett the sore boobs and nausea sound horrible. I also had the fear that my follie would be empty. I think it is normal to envisage the worst case scenarios after all that we have put ourselves through. Good luck for EC tomorrow!

I very much doubt that high heels cause mc. Unless you happen to fall off them at 9 months gone or something. I think the ishoo with them later on is that they push your lower back forward and that is likely to cause backache when you have a bump there, plus you are a bit less stable as your ligaments loosen. I planned to wear mine for as long as it was comfortable (I am a bit of a heels girl).

keepitgoing · 10/03/2013 12:24

Ditto to that and many other fears. Fx all three are juicy mature eggs, Scarlett

I've been enjoying my days of having it all go on outside my body. Nothing to do with me, sir. It's so relaxing, and this is how it always is for the men! Envy

I hardly ever wear heels, so that's one thing I won't be doing wrong...

shaz is it sinking in yet lovely?

Nokkie73 · 10/03/2013 17:25

scarlett did you get a good boulder holder from sports direct ? I hope you cheered yourself up with some retail therapy and a little sing song. I get your anxiety about tomorrow as am having similar thoughts myself. I wish you all the very best of luck for EC tomorrow -what time are you in ? Are you at guys too (sorry to ask again) ?

P.s. next time you have a dilemma about takeout, get them both. I find this makes the tears go away very quickly Grin.

keeps how are you doing enjoying the in between time between EC and ET ? When will you be back in ? Any news on your embies ? Fingers crossed for you. X

Shazza how are you and mini-shazlett doing today ? Feeling ok ? Hope so. Xx

euro how are you getting on my love ? X

Lots of love to everyone else on the thread. Hope the others show-up soon.....the pack is too small without them.

Noks xx
