Our new home, hope we will all be very unhappy here and leave soon ;-)

Evening all. bunny and merkin, yes I think the secret is trying to keep the pressure as low as possible. My new tactic has been having a very calm frank conversation about it with him where we ascertained the pressure is the problem so therefore we just need to dtd very regularly throughout. So now I know the timings side of it but I'm trying to block out my CRAZY side appearing mostly calm throughout as much as I can.

cherry mothers day ouchy. That is not cool.

tall yeah they come out of left field don't they? Grand designs is a common culprit for fertility smugness success I've found.

Pipbin · 05/03/2013 21:11

Twinkle How did the HSG go?

Bunnygirlie · 05/03/2013 21:29

mother I'd probably like the show if I watched it but I watch too much else instead lol

thunder I try not to put any pressure on DH now but it doesn't seem to be working. After 7 years we didn't really DTD very often before TTC so trying to up the frequency is an uphill battle, and now his mojo has left the building I don't know where we go from here.

Thunderbuns · 05/03/2013 21:32

Oh bunny that's so difficult. I have no idea if it'll even work for us but I'm repeating it to myself like a mantra in the hope it will! I find it really understandable too- noone needs pressure to 'perform' and the longer it goes on the more it must feel.

When do the bummy pills arrive?

cherrycoconut · 05/03/2013 21:35

Tally and Thunder I agree, Grand Designs is just smugness personified and yet Ihave to admit I love it so. Ooh look, here's a window on our perfect world we've built around our perfect family on a budget you can only dream about.

I am addicted in the vein hope that one day I too will graduate from living in a building site!

cherrycoconut · 05/03/2013 21:47

Bunny that sounds tough to deal with. We have delayed male probs (is there a cute abbrev for that as there seems to be for everything else on here?!) which we're kind of ignoring for now- trying to DTD as much as poss in a carefree no pressure way while I get sorted. carrying all the pressure of being low pressure is hard on you.

Tallyra · 05/03/2013 22:04

should I have heard of mike and molly? I have no idea who they are.

Thunderbuns · 05/03/2013 22:07

I don't know them either. What's it all about?

Grand designs is great. Sometimes I just want to fast forward to the finished house though. And prepare myself for at least one new baby throughout the course of the programme.

cherrycoconut · 05/03/2013 22:13

I don't know Mike and Molly either. My heart says I'd really like to find out, ooh more TTC info. My head says you can have to much of a good thing and I need to play it cool and convince DH I'm not obsessed to keep the pressure off. Over analyse. Who moi?!

ILoveMyCats · 05/03/2013 22:21

Evening ladies. Thanks for the thoughts about acupunture. I'll talk to her. A good antidote to ttc is 'Girls'. Absolutely no babies or anyone that wants one. Hurrah!

Bunnygirlie · 05/03/2013 22:44

Thanks cherry and thunder* it is real tough, FX magic arrives before weekend so we can get some miracle shags in before ov due early next week!

cherry we have just finished buildings works that started in sept, probably wasn't the best time for TTC with all that stress too lol

cherry mike & molly is a sitcom on comedy central, its only recently had the ttc storyline, it started as 2 overweight people with disfunctional families finding love, now they are married and ttc. Its really funny, in tonights one she gave him kippers for breakfast to boost omega 3&6 and banned coffee giving him herbal tea instead.....he reacted as many if our ohs would Grin made me chuckle.

twinklestar2 · 05/03/2013 23:18

Pip it went well. Tubes are showing as clear but will get proper results in a couple of days after they've done a detailed analysis. What did yours say when you had yours?

Pipbin · 06/03/2013 00:00

She said that one seemed completely blocked and one was rather slow going. When I went to see the consultat afterwards I didn't get a great deal more info.

twinklestar2 · 06/03/2013 00:02

Thx for answering :)

Pipbin · 06/03/2013 07:01

It sounds good though Twink. Like I said the consultant didn't tell me any more than the doctor who did the HSG. The only reason I had the lap and dye was that they couldn't tell if the blocked tube was really blocked or if it was a muscle spasm.

twinklestar2 · 06/03/2013 10:58

Thx pip, it sounds like I won't need the lap and dye then.

Pipbin · 06/03/2013 11:19

I wouldn't expect so. It seems a lap and dye is only done if the HSG shows a problem.
Have they said what they think the problem might be and what the next course of action will be?

Pipbin · 06/03/2013 12:58

Where is everyone?

SidneyBristow · 06/03/2013 13:04

Great news twink!
Fx for those of you waiting on ov/sex dates with DP's!

I haven't told my mother about any of the fertility tests we're undergoing, or even that I went to a GP specifically to discuss it. She knows we want children, but sometimes it feels like her angst over her not being a grandma yet somehow trumps my angst at not being a mother yet, and I just don't need the extra pressure. My sister knows all about it & is fully supportive. I've mentioned it to my SIL & MIL; largely that was a big disappointment as they didn't seem to take it seriously, and MIL's attitude was crap - she's got tunnel vision on how it would affect my SKs. SIL has since gotten rid of all her baby furnishings, which kind of felt like a vote of no confidence Sad so I won't be opening up to them about it again. I've told a handful of close friends, who are great about it.

2ww creeping by, trying not to symptom spot & failing miserably!

PowderPuffs · 06/03/2013 13:20

Hello! Embarking on the 2ww feeling a bit deflated as I've been so ill we only managed to DTD 3 times... which of course is better than nowt, but I had big plans for this month!

Glad to hear things sound good twinkle

Sidney what a shame your in-laws reacted that way, I think that's what puts me off telling anyone, people can be so thoughtless and it's hard not to take it personally eh.

And it's impossible not to symptom spot! I was 4 days late last month and had every symptom going, there's literally nothing that can take your mind off it!

Anyone else noticed the Royal Bump is everywhere again. Nothing against her, but the hysteria... jeez!

MavisCruet176 · 06/03/2013 13:26

good news twinkle

sidney - I'm trying to pretend the 2ww isn't happening....when are you going to poas - I think I might go for a cheeky one on Sunday....I'm too impatient to wait till Tues....

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 13:31

Ooh Mavis i love an early POAS shout (I know it is naughty but still!)
Powder 3 times is plenty... on the basis you have 6 fertile days and our absent Berry Gail said DTD every other day was the best frequency for swimmer numbers/quality then it sounds like you hit the nail on the head and it's much better than my single time last month!
