Pip the problem is OH's morphology. So they've got him to cut alcohol completely and see what happens in 3 months. If no improvement then it's IVF.

PowderPuffs · 06/03/2013 13:51

SidneyBristow · 06/03/2013 15:15

Mavis hadn't really considered POAS, but might change my ways this cycle. Would have to order internet cheapies from Amazon though; anyone have a recommendation?

Merkin you make me feel less crazy Smile Have been irrationally emotional since last Fri, and felt vomity all day today. Could be due to impending Mums Day, and having to fake cheeriness to my SKs who rightly are excited to invite their mum to school's tea party/make cards etc, meanwhile it occurred to me that if we'd succeeded TTC our first month last summer, I'd be 1 mo away from being a mum myself. Also, my dog is undergoing tests, and I'm worried, so could also explain the weepies. The vomities, no idea. Had weird cramping yesterday; things smell funny; my skin looks amazingly clear, and this morning saw a unicorn stroll past my front door. OK that last bit is a little crazy I admit but surely it means something? Wink

Powder yes my MIL/SIL's responses were hurtful altho not too surprising. I know they love me and prob had no idea how their words came across; generally they are rather thoughtless.

So here's the list again:

Aquarius, 32, cycle 10/11, af due 8 March ish
SidneyBristow, 38, ttc since July 2012 (cycle 8), AF due 8 March; have had blood tests (all normal) & awaiting appt for ultrasound

Fairy is the above correct, you got a BFP your first or second cycle trying? You lucky girl!

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 15:33

sidney my very cheap and v sensitive pee sticks from amazon here

Symptoms sound good especially the unicorn I would have been through 5 or 6 sticks by now! All fingers crossed for the third Elderberry BFP to be heading your way!

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 15:35

Ever had any symptoms like it before? The cramping and smell are especially good signs.hope your dog is ok

happylass · 06/03/2013 16:13

Afternoon all. Not much optimism for me this month either. Usually get temp rise on cd12 but this month was cd14 and not even enough of a rise for me to be certain OV has happened. Will have to wait and see if temp stays up. Even if I have OVd I probably mis-timed shag week/Robitissin guzzling! Why is this so hard!?!

SidneyBristow · 06/03/2013 16:16

Thanks, just ordered some! They won't be delivered til sometime between Mon & Thurs, so might all be a bit anticlimactic since AF/BFP is due Tues. We'll see. You might turn me into a compulsive POAS-er yet!! My fx are crossed too, for us all. Getting rather tired of this TTC stuff. This morning had to assist (ahem) DH with getting his semen sample ready; all I could think was, Is this what it's come down to?

I have had some of these symptoms before, so my mind is probably playing tricks on me but it passes the time so I don't care but the intense emotionality is something new. I couldn't stop crying on Sun afternoon even though I knew it was ridiculous.

barkingtreefrog · 06/03/2013 16:42

Well, on the POAS theme, I'm switching to Merkin's recommended sticks next cycle as I'm spending too much money on the CMFM sticks, but thought I would try one or two this cycle to see if they fitted with what the CBFM was telling me. Unfortunately I'm on my 3rd day of 'High' fertility according to CBFM and I've only just got round to thinking about trying a OPK stick as well. Oh well. And I'm not finding it so easy! First morning wee and just holding a stick in it is easy, but collecting it in a cup (despite all the lovely advice on here) was not quite so simple. Two failures so far today. Don't even ask. Blush

SidneyBristow · 06/03/2013 16:49

Better to pee on yourself than have someone else pee on you unless you're Kim Kardashian and use it to propel yourself to fame at the expense of your dignity if you ever had any to begin with

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 17:02

barking desperate to know details of the failures! It does take some time to get used to. You could try a bigger cup or some decent sized tupperware?! Sorry if i'm pointing out the obvious but I assume you are sitting on the loo with your hand between your legs holding the 'pot' against yourself?? I don't squat, i actually sit down as normal on the loo - the only difference being you have to have your pot holding hand in place before you sit down iyswim. I can 'hear' if i'm not hitting the pot as i can hear the pee either going in the pot or in the loo so can re-adjust if needed. I realise what I have just written is very weird, but we can't have you spending a small fortune on your CBFM sticks so we will hold your hand while you get the hang of it! And it is the same skill needed for the internet cheapie preg tests so keep practising as hopefully you'll be peeing on some of those too! Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 17:06

Sidney damn amazon slow delivery! Your list says AF due 8th March but your post says Tuesday. If it is the 8th March ever hopeful i'd be running down to boots or the pound shop right now if I were you!

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 17:12

On a totally different note do any of the Berries get up to anything crafty in their spare time? (Crafty as in arts and crafts not crafty as in sly!). I seem to remember somebody mentioning quilting but does anyone else do any? Or am i the weird one who likes taking up things on a whim and never finishing them?

Thunderbuns · 06/03/2013 17:50

Hi everyone!

merkin I do exactly the same as you when it comes to peeing in a pot, and I'm surprised how quickly I got good at it. Very neat peeing over here.... No offence barking but I'm not going to offer to hold your hand this time because it's probably covered in wee by the sound of things.

Out of interest had anyone compared cbfm with cb digi opks at the sane time? Ie where in the 'high' fertility bit does the smiley show up?

I like a bit of crafting, merk, although don't have much energy for it at the moment.

Tallyra · 06/03/2013 18:19

I've been using the eBay early cheapies for poas and they have all been bang on correct each time so far, cist less than a fiver for 20 if you can find the right seller.
Yes, I'm a quilter. I sit and use fabric like a little kid uses crayons, I'm actually doing so right now, about to free machine quilt a sampler for no good reason.
BTW the last update you did Sidney managed to remove mine. I'd do it now but I'm on my phone and that would be impossible I think.

Third time lucky!!

I am using a large plastic cup (think picnic ware) which gets bigger towards the top, so a very large target area, but I just don't seem to wee in a straight line...

I did also purchase a job lot of the pg testing strips you recommended Merkin, but now I'm scared to start testing early as I've read all about chemical pregnancies and if I had one of those I'd rather not know as I would get ridiculously excited at seeing a positive and then devastated if AF arrived later. Or perhaps I'm overanalysing again, it wouldn't be the first time I over analysed something/everything......

cherrycoconut · 06/03/2013 19:14

Sounds like good news for you twinkle, so pleased for you!
Sidney grrr for MIL's attitude. So helpful! I'm with you Powder I'd rather just keep schtum than risk people trampling over my feelings like that. Likely to make me a paranoid quivering wreck whereas I'm usually quite stoic of my own accord mostly

Fingers crossed for all you 2ww'ers, I'll have to store up all this hilarious invaluable POAS knowledge for who knows when. Hoping for some BFP's for you all :)

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 19:35

cherry did you decide to go back and shout at the doctor again or just wait it out?

haycorn · 06/03/2013 20:00

Evening all. Very impressed that you are a proper quilter Tallyra. I tried making one years ago, and although I'm very proud of it, when guests see it I have to pretend that I actually made it when I was a child to try and excuse the cack-handed mess I made of it! I love crafting Merkin, I'm just bloody useless at it. I used to have visions of myself sitting at a farmhouse style table, wearing a Laura Ashley frock and putting together some pretty something or other while my beautiful children played happily outside in the garden. So far the only part of that vision that has proved remotely accessible is the bloody table. Maybe I should start practising my handicrafts a bit harder and then the rest will all just follow suit?
