Our new home, hope we will all be very unhappy here and leave soon ;-)

Hooray! Another random fact! That's the challenge, I think, Barking! I have loads of random facts that would INSTANTLY out me; I had to think of something that I haven't discussed with anyone in real life.

Perhaps I should just bring up my list of ridiculous jealousy again (for those of you that remember it) as I have a new addition! As well as feeling resentment towards the moon and a car with the number plate 'BFP', I am now also jealous of the sheep in the field that have got the orange dye spot to show that they have (probably) been impregnated. I also find myself feeling sisterly solidarity towards the ones who have no dye.

On reflection, perhaps it would be for the best if I don't reproduce...

ILoveMyCats · 03/03/2013 22:29

Yes, our cats love to guard visiting babies and look through the changing bags and inspect the toys that make noises. They let our nephew chase them round the garden and look at him tn make sure he's still chasing them. One cat would not leave a pg friend alone. She got on her lap (never gets on strangers) and wrapped herself round the bump as if to keep it warm. Very odd, but so sweet.
mother, my MIL is a random woman. DH never had pets until our two cats and MIL is not an animal lover. Whereas, I've always had at least one cat in my life. I think they are good for children, as you say. Also have read that pets expose children to a good level of germs and can help immune systems.
We did have a teachers thread, but a lot of us seem to have migrated!

Tallyra · 03/03/2013 22:30

must be the school thing, although 3 colleagues have just had one, 2 are blokes and the other is admin.
I'm outside playing with cuddly bouncy fluffies now and they have been instrumental in keeping me sane, although the dog just helps me stay on the crazy side.
love, yes, it was very insensitive, I have trouble with my thoughts at that time too, although I know that wasn't the reason I haven't ended up sorry a LO yet.
dh is34 and we have been married 5.5 years and my but crush is and always has been Jared Leto, ever since 'my so called life'

Tallyra · 03/03/2013 22:31

*with, not sorry.

ILoveMyCats · 03/03/2013 22:32

Think I may be easily identifiable now. Bother.

ILoveMyCats · 03/03/2013 22:34

Oooh, Jordan Catalano and Angela Chase! I loved 'my so called life'. Still love Clare Danes.

Bunnygirlie · 03/03/2013 22:42

Mmmmmmm sorry still thinking about Dean Winchester, he is rather scrummy isn't he mother! boodle if you are ever after a boxset to watch this is the one, we have just watched series 1-5 in a few months, although I suspect DHs reasons for watching are a little different to mineGrin

One of my cats hates children, anything that runs around and screeches sends her off hiding! Even when my friends come round without their boys she associates them with noise and runs to hide!

Random fact from me, I have all 6 BAGA gymnastics badges from when I was younger, these days I can't even touch my toes lol

Bunnygirlie · 03/03/2013 22:46

boodle I have lots of freaky jealousy things too, every tv show I watch there are babies or pg people (eg friends at the mi is either eps with Rachel getting pg or the Bings adopting), every ad break is for pg tests, and then my fav show at the mo Supernatural the episode we watched last night was all about a baby!!! But yes the sheep thing is rather weird Wink

OP posts:
Boodle9 · 03/03/2013 22:54

Hee hee! I don't mind being called weird! I often vocalise all my utterly bizarre inner ponderings to the world. In fact, I am probably outing myself through style, not content at the moment! Grin

Bunnygirlie · 03/03/2013 23:00

Nowt wrong with being weird, I too wear the weird badge with pride! Let us raise the glasses of weirdness and drink to weird ladies getting weird babies. Smile

Pipbin · 03/03/2013 23:02

I understand about the sheep. You are not alone. I get annoyed watching a nature program and the male jumps on the bored looking female, who hasn't had to tart her self up, or look interested, and gets the job done in two seconds flat. Then they say 'she is now pregnant'. If it was only that easy.

Not the occupation though. Three members of staff got pregnant at once in my school. Although sadly one lost her baby at 21 weeks.
I think it's because we have has to faff about getting permanent jobs and training and stuff.

I have had dreadful spots the past week so I went into Lush and bought face masks and stuff. Hurrah for treats.

Bunnygirlie · 03/03/2013 23:02

P.s. what's a schema?!?

OP posts:
Bunnygirlie · 03/03/2013 23:04

Hurrah for treats indeed! I was so darn fed up today I made my first Vicky sponge for afternoon tea and then defrosted some macaroons for pud, maybe I shouldn't have given up choc for march!

Tallyra · 03/03/2013 23:14

oh god its so nice to have someone know what I mean about Jordan catalano. even dh hadn't heard of him, although admittedly he would rather watch the A team or knight rider.
also I've always been a bit weird and proud of it! I'll drink with you! (even if it is just schloer rather than wine... migraines Grr....)

Boodle9 · 03/03/2013 23:19

Oh, that's me! Sorry - did a little psychology at school! Schema theory is the idea that we organise and compartmentalise our thoughts and memories and that these are then modified as we learn new information. I remember being taught it in the context of childhood development, so let's say a child learns that a cat is furry and has four legs - a schema for a cat starts to develop. That child may then assume a dog is a cat but then, when corrected, the cat schema is modified and a new schema for a dog is created.

I am really hoping no one with an actual, proper psychology background comes along as that's probably a terrible explanation doing it all sorts of injustice!

However, I was saying that I think I have developed elderberry schemata! You Bunny have the following associations in my brain: Enjoyed Les Mis. Shares TTC woes with waxer lady!!! Don't ask why those stuck...they just did!

Pip - I'm glad you get the animal jealousy thing! They have it so easy, don't they?! (Well...when they're not getting hunted/poached/driven out of their natural habitat by human development...that sort of stuff.)

Pipersouth · 04/03/2013 08:18

Morning ladies - 2nd test 2nd not pg but still 5 days overdue really really disappointed but puzzled. Never late before why didn't the test say BFP :-( We were somehow sure but still nothing - its not over til the fat lady sings!! Just wait and hope i guess

Bunnygirlie · 04/03/2013 08:33

Mother nature can be cruel piper

boodle that's me! I do wonder if I should tell some friends but it just seems easier talking to those who are going through the something!

OP posts:
Bunnygirlie · 04/03/2013 08:33

*same thing even!

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 04/03/2013 08:57

ahhh sorry piper fingers still crossed for you.

Random question but Im doing a 3 course murder mystery meal for my 30th birthday, my friend is doing the pudding but I need to come up with a starter and a main. Both need to be easy with little prep. I was thinking pate and toast and spag bol, the spag bol can be cooked earlier and left in the slow cooker. But I'm not sure if I can have pate when pregnant? Any ideas re pate or a different menu?

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/03/2013 09:40

Hellooooo berries. Apologies I have been AWOL over the weekend, had a boozy busy one and now playing catch up. Not read it all but I am feeling left out as I am not a teacher! However I do have 2 cats so perhaps i'm still part of the gang!
Mother am over the moon for you now you have a nice dark line! In terms of food you could do a soup, or some mini tarts (red onion) that you could just warm up? Not sure if you can have goats cheese if it's cooked? That could be nice. Nachos? Stuffed potato skins? Struggling as everything I think of seems to contain fish!
On our TTC front, no O yet (FF says Wed, from my OPK's I would guess a little later unless they're playing tricks on me). Bound to be sods law and happen this month just as i'm potentially about to go back to work....

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/03/2013 09:41

Tallyra · 04/03/2013 09:44

Mother As you have an Italian main, how about Bruschetta; toast, diced tomatoes and onions and olive oil and balsamic vinegar, with or without mozzarella?

Bunnygirlie · 04/03/2013 12:59

Merkin I'm not a teacher either!!!

Hubby has ordered some magic pills of the internet, will be interesting to see if they work! I am really hoping we can get some DTD in this weekend, according to my apps I should ov around tuesday. Please keep your fingers crossed for some miracle shags this weekend!!!

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 04/03/2013 13:24

hummm yeah bruschetta could be a good call, I was wondering about breaded mushrooms with a dip? Bruschetta would look fancier though Grin

I just called my docs to arrange my first appointment as a preggo lady, from then on i'll be in the system eeek. Grin

MotherOfCleo · 04/03/2013 13:25
