Thanks for all the waves everyone! Can I ask what is probably a stupid question before running off to bed? What on earth is preseed? I mean I can kind of guess from the name, but how exactly does it work (or not work) and where does one get it from?

Boodle9 · 27/02/2013 23:01

Yes, Merkin, Robitussin is cough medicine. It's meant to loosen up all your mucus...including the downtown stuff!

I'm CD11 too, and also expecting O between CD15 and CD18! We can enjoy being cycle buddies for 1 month. (I'll race off ahead of you after that no doubt, given the 7-9 day LP)

Haycorn Preseed and conceive plus are both sperm friendly lubricants. I bought my conceive plus from Amazon, but I did notice that my local Tesco has started stocking some kind of own brand version!

Pipbin · 27/02/2013 23:03

Haycorn Preseed and Conception Plus are both sperm friendly lubes. Both can be bought from Boots but are cheaper on Amazon.

Pipbin · 27/02/2013 23:03

Haha Snap Boodle, you can tell we are both old hands!

Bunnygirlie · 27/02/2013 23:06

Well if we're talking about what we are trying to help.... I use opks, concieve plus, filtered water, organic milk, full fat milk, fish, hubby on zinc, reflexology, prayers, wishing on stars.......

haycorn · 27/02/2013 23:07

Thanks Boodle and Pipbin. It has been lovely talking to you all, much more fun than just lurking! Night all.

CatsCantFlyFast · 27/02/2013 23:07

Haycorn the bit everyone forgot to mention is that they come with a handy syringe applicator so you can ensure you're lubricated all the way up to your nostrils

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2013 23:11

Lol merkin it was supposed to say 'very exciting'; stupidly tiny buttons on this tablet thingie is my only excuse. Smudging a house is some sort of hippie hoodoo; i believe it involves waving a burnt branch of sage or some other herb around, while chanting or maybe praying to Gaia or something. I think the purpose is to cleanse the house of bad juju and usher in good luck. My first boyfriend's stepmother was deeply into it; personally I'd rather use some air freshener and call it a day! But honestly at this point, I'm nearly ready to try anything.

Sorry for being in the wrong spot on your list Sad. The list itself is way cool, only thing is I keep losing track of who is who, with all the name changing going on!

What's the verdict on caffeine, ladies? Drop it, or makes no difference? I can live without alcohol, but Coke would be hard to give up unless truly necessary!

CatsCantFlyFast · 27/02/2013 23:18

I am off to bed. I am not engaging in conversations about things I should give up because I am not yet desperate enough (but very close) unable to force myself to give up alcohol, copious amounts of tea, red bull, chocolate or monster munch until I get the holy grail of a second line. I gave up smoking in November and it's killing me so anything else would put me over the edge! That is quite likely why I will be the only one left here when you all have a house full of nappies! However I will keep your spots warm until you decide to try for a second...

Sidney I wasn't blaming you for being in the wrong spot!

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2013 23:20

I know, I was only kidding, no worries. Plus I have horrible I so even if I had bee serious, the whanged sausage would've missed you by a mile!

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2013 23:20

Argh. Horrible aim; been serious.

CatsCantFlyFast · 27/02/2013 23:30

ha ha my bad typing is catching Wink

Pipbin · 27/02/2013 23:41

With regards to caffeine; there was a sign at the fertility clinic saying that excessive consumption of caffeine can affect fertility. However, what is excessive? I have about 5 cups of tea a day, what it too much?

Pipbin · 27/02/2013 23:51

To answer my own question it seems about 300mg a day is the daily max and there is more into here: www.bbc.co.uk/health/treatments/healthy_living/nutrition/healthy_caff.shtml

MotherOfCleo · 27/02/2013 23:55

Hi ladies, geez it's been busy this evening. (waves at haycorn)

Hey boodle I'm going to keep using it until at least 3 months but prob all way thru to be honest as it can help ward off evil preggo sickness.

Ive pulled myself together, not going to test till Monday and if I am AF free by then I am going to book a Docs appointment.

Is Kerry still around or did she get booted? I like her straight talking, she was always ready to slap me with a kipper for acting like a twat, god can you imagine what she'd have made of today's antics.....eeek.

Purplemonster · 28/02/2013 00:04

shhh I'm not really supposed to be here but just wanted to offer some support to Mother. Just to say that I found the first few weeks really tough psychologically and was convinced it wouldn't stick so go easy on yourself and I hope the doubt and crushing worry subside for you and your line gets darker. If I can be if any help you know where I am x
And to everyone else yes, you definitely need to eat more chocolate and drink more wine Wink

MotherOfCleo · 28/02/2013 07:29

cheers purple I'm so glad I'm not the only unstable one lol.

I've decided not to test till Monday, fx the line is darker by then. For now I am just getting my head round the fact I have a small bunch of cells rapidly becoming a baby inside my body. Wink

Bunnygirlie · 28/02/2013 08:12

Fingers crossed for you mother

I think for the very worries you speak of I would wanna hold out till AF was really late till I tested as I would be so paranoid she was just playing tricks with me by being late! Lol

Rache1S · 28/02/2013 09:02

Mother FWIW I think your new approach is very sensible.... although you are heading into the longest weekend of your life! Smile I remember in the early days around the time AF was due being scared to even sit down too hard in case it dislodged and fell out! FX for a fast weekend and a nice dark line on Monday. Grin

When I phoned my GP about it, they said I didn't need to see a Doctor and just took my details for a Midwife to call me back to get me into the system. People who have said they go to a Doctor to announce pregnancy have been met with expressions of, "Why are you wasting my time when you're clearly not ill?" You should prepare yourself to be totally underwhelmed by how little the medical profession care about your earth-shattering life-changing wonderful massive news. It's just run of the mill routine stuff to them. All they will tell you to do is to take Folic Acid and arrange a booking appt with a Midwife at around 8 weeks. Smile

MotherOfCleo · 28/02/2013 10:32

haha too true rache it's going to be LONG! I'm going to keep busy and hope it helps time fly. Will be even harder as my OH is away.

I had heard that the docs don't care, but you hear of all these women having blood tests to check their hcg levels are doubling, what is that all about? It's going to be a long 8 weeks.........

BelissimaLol · 28/02/2013 11:34

Hi mother, the blood test as far as I know is only if you have an early scan which shows something wrong. Other than that bloods are taken at mw app and then at 12 week scan.
I too didn't test until af was 2 days late for fear of getting to excited. And the weeks until the scan were a nightmare!
Can you ask for reassurance scan? That's the only thing my gp did - send me for one as I mc'd before and was in a panic. Other than that she didn't give a toss.
