Damnit I wrote and lost a long post.

In summary- wow lots of talk, took me ages to catch up. moc waiting is a good idea- testing early has extra perils but fx all fine. I got to 12 weeks and still hadn't got my head around the cells/baby thing.

Hi to everyone else.

Mr thunder has been a star and told work he needs to be home by weds (cd13) so not perfect for shag week but not totally dispairing any more either.

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/02/2013 16:46

Well done mother, assuming no sign of AF today will help.
Quiet round here today, is everyone having a busy day? I'm supposed to be cramming for an interview tomorrow and have lots of cleaning to do but have decided to bake a treacle tart instead

MavisCruet176 · 28/02/2013 17:34

yay Thunder - may the shagging commence Grin

merkin - baking treacle tart sounds like very productive procrastination to me

barkingtreefrog · 28/02/2013 18:13

Thanks Merkin, just ordered a pack of the opk's and a pack of the pregnancy tests! Will finish this cycle with the CBFM then put it back on ebay... I'll save my clear blue digital tests for when I need a second opinion!! Do you have to dip these ones in a pot or can you just POAS as with others?

Busy day at work today, then a colleague came back from her second scan and announced to everyone she's having a girl. Grr. Then she had the cheek to complain that she's missing her class residential trip in summer as the head won't let her go as she'll be 8 months pregnant. But she doesn't know I've been trying for ages, or even that I'm trying at all, so she won't have a clue how hard I find it to have her laughing and joking about it. Sooo jealous For all I know she could have trying for ages though so I'm very happy for her. ^^

Bunnygirlie · 28/02/2013 18:14

Helloooooooooo anybody in this eve? Whassup?

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 28/02/2013 18:21

OOooooo, did someone say choccie biccies?!! Hello Bunny!! ^^
I'm off out for a meal later but I'm sure I can squeeze some choccie biccies in first - shove up on that sofa!

Bunnygirlie · 28/02/2013 18:29

Hey barking, please stop me for eating them all!!!! How's you? Off out anywhere nice?

It's a monthly thing with DP's colleagues. There's a road near us with loads of restaurants on it, and the last Thursday of every month we visit them in order. We started 6 months ago at one end of the road and we're making our way up one side and then down the other. We've got to go to every place that has table service (so not cafes or takeaways) but not allowed to miss any out (other than one dodgy pub with a very rough reputation that sold food where the consensus was our large group of rowdy non-regulars would definitely not be welcome). So far we've had Thai, Chinese, Italian, Japanese and Turkish. Tonight it's another Thai restaurant.

It's the only one so far I've actually been to before. I remember them not understanding the basic concept of having a shellfish allergy. After explaining to them I couldn't eat prawns, or anything that had touched prawns, they brought out a mixed starter with all the food on one plate, some containing prawns. They then helpfully pointed to the bits that didn't contain prawns Confused.

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/02/2013 18:41

barking pee in a pot. The OPKs say use 2nd morning urine, and when I get close to O I use them morning and night as your surge can be very short. My first few months using them I taped them onto a sheet of paper marked with dates and times, then I was able to compare month to month to get the hang of the pattern to look out for. Mine normally get progressively darker until I get a positive, however I remember someone on here saying theirs went from nothing to positive!
I'm around a bit later (doing a frantic tidy up before DH gets home so it doesn't look like I've done nothin all day Grin) but still have interview cramming to do so will be popping in and out to steal biscuits.
Here's a question for you... Do any if you have the baby name conversations with your OH already? We may be mad but we have a list and its a regular topic of conversation!

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/02/2013 18:44

barking in a similar vein my vege friend once asked on a train if they had anything suitable for vegetarians. She was offered a chicken salad sandwich Shock
We have done the eating from A to Z before (ie first restaurant must be a cuisine being with A eg American, then Brazillian etc etc. Some of them were quite tough!)

Boodle9 · 28/02/2013 18:58

Good evening! Got a big pile of work to do this evening, so logging on here was a baaaaaad idea, but hey! It's Friday tomorrow! Woooooo!

Ooh, Merkin, yes, we often have jokey and serious baby naming conversations. We have a boy's name already pretty much decided, and I have a favourite girl's name that DH doesn't mind. (All his favourite girl's names are far too common - I've taught loads of them!)

Can't bring myself to share as (like a few others mentioned last night) DH doesn't know I post on here, but I think he suspects! I'd prefer him not to read my crazy ramblings though (thinks back to moon jealousy phase) and don't want to full-blown out myself!

haycorn · 28/02/2013 19:10

I should be working too Boodle, but if Bunny is still offering choccie biccies around then I'm logging on!

barkingtreefrog · 28/02/2013 19:41

Ok, sorry if I'm asking too many questions here, but do you have a 'pot' that you keep in the bathroom? Do you sterilise it each time?! I'm worried I'll miss... Sorry if I sound totally clueless, but I've always literally POAS, if you see what I mean....

Oh, and DP has just got home and has given me another pg update on the SiL. Everything fine and due on the 3rd September. Whoopdedoo. Stings even more because that would be my ideal due date (as a teacher, a September birthday would always be preferable, and a July/August birthday not so good). I remember trying really hard in December Sad.

So then that put me in a bad mood, and at the same time I was trying to type on here without him seeing what I was typing on, and I kept suggesting he checked the post, or went and got changed, or ANYTHING to just get him out of the room!! But then I obviously sounded grumpy so he said if I was trying to concentrate on something I should have just asked him nicely to leave the room and within the space of 10 minutes I've gone from looking forward to going out for a nice meal to wiping away tears as I'm FED UP OF HEARING ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE'S PREGNANCIES!!!

Boodle9 · 28/02/2013 19:47

Oh no, Barking! These men just don't get it sometimes, do they? When my SIL announced her pregnancy, I wasn't there, so she asked DH to tell me when he got home. Instead, he suggested she ring me to tell me there and then! I had to mutter a strangled 'congratulations' and hang up as quickly as possible. The knobber silly thing then came home and wondered why I was crying...!

I have a little pot for cheap OPKs. It's a plastic shot glass! (CLASSY!) TMI hold it close and it's pretty hard to miss! I'm pretty grim as well - just wipe it with tissue then a wet wipe/antibac bathroom wipe!

SloaneRaver · 28/02/2013 20:31

I've been such a quiet berry while I wait for AF to be over, but am watching and loving you all.

How's this for a tactic to stir up sod's law? Went to a lush lingerie sample sale and stocked up up on lovely bits that won't possibly fit me possibly ever again if next cycle goes to plan!

Pipbin · 28/02/2013 20:35

Barking I have the lid from an old bottle of foundation. I rinse it out under a hot tap every time.

And as for baby names, they have been chosen already.

Bunnygirlie · 28/02/2013 20:39

Lol boodle I have a plastic cup I leave in the bathroom cupboard! This TTC lark is so glam Shock

Oh barking that's horrid, having somebody so close to you pg is no fun at all I know. In my 9months TTC 2 of my besties have had babies and another one is due may!

CD5 here, who are my lovely cycle buddies?!?

OP posts:
haycorn · 28/02/2013 20:44

Oh barking, I'm sorry. My SiL has recently announced she's pregnant too, and I actually am really happy about it because she has been trying for about 4 years, and this was her third round of IVF. So obviously it is great news and she really deserves it (if you can 'deserve' a baby) but even that really happy announcement just made me even more scared that it is happening for everyone else and maybe it will never happen for me. And then not only will I feel sad because I don't have the family I would like, but I will feel sad because my friends all have a life that I am not part of and really can't relate to, so I get left behind Sad.

But enough of the sad. On a lighter note, I have to pee in a pot for the ov. sticks I've got, and I have a perfectly sized pot that once housed pasta sauce! It is just the right size, no aiming needed, but it does look pretty weird sitting on my bathroom windowsill most of the time. Still, I'd rather unexpected visitors thought that I like to snack in odd places than knew that I just can't get enough of dangling little colour change sticks into my own wee.

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/02/2013 20:50

I have a pot in both bathrooms (one of those ones from a posh yoghurt that is more like a clay ramekin) that i rinse each time. I agree on the hold it close/against you. I find hitting it is easy, stopping so you don't overflow is harder! Pot lives in bathroom storage box along with my huge stash of sticks!
And (this is awful) left it out (rinsed) in the bathroom a couple of times and have come in the next morning to see DH's toothbrush in it. Have chuckled to myself and take it as revenge for every time he can not manage to put anything in the dishwasher or the kitchen bin (even though both are within arms reach of anywhere you stand in our bathroom).

I am Hmm and Shock with the foundation lid... i'm picturing you peeing into the smallest 'pot' in the world! Or does my foundation just have very small lids compared to everybody else?

happylass · 28/02/2013 20:56

Evening ladies. 1.5 hours to drive the 10 miles home from parents evening so not a happy bunny this eve. Am home alone with a giant box of Thorntons tho but I'm definitely not sharing!!
Barking I use the little glass ramekin that the Gü desserts sometimes come in. They are the perfect size. We were having dessert a few nights ago and I said "oh good a new pot to pee in" DP just looked at me like eeeewwwww. I'm a minger tho, just give it a good wash out, figure am only gonna wee in it again shortly!
Sorry to hear you're feeling blue Barking. Have has quite a lot of colleagues and friends of friends get upduffed recently but fortunately no-one really close to me.

Bunnygirlie · 28/02/2013 21:20

merkin that's really made me chuckle, the thought of your OH using your pee pot Grin

Really makes me smile that we all have pee pots of all shapes and sizes in our bathrooms lol

OP posts:
Pipbin · 28/02/2013 21:21

Talking of pee pots, some of you may have heard this before, but back in the summer I was doing a trial for Clearblue which involved me peeing in a pot every morning, keeping it in the fridge, then posting it off once a fortnight.

Well we were selling the house at this point and one day I realised that I'd shown a couple round and there was a pot of pee on the side in the bathroom!

haycorn · 28/02/2013 21:36

And did they buy the house Pip?!

Pipbin · 28/02/2013 21:38

No! I do wonder if they saw it as it was on the side in the bathroom with other bathroom stuff.

qazxc · 28/02/2013 21:42

happylass Smile at your post I also use the GU glass ramekin. they are the perfect depth.

barking I feel for you. Everyone around me has either just had a baby or is expecting. I've been trying for over a year and have had to miscarriage, it's just not fair.
