I'm 33 & dh is 36. We're coming up to 12 months of ttc#2 but my doc says its a bit soon to do investigations & i should give it 2yrs of trying.

i got the impression from these boards that lots of people start undergoing tests after 12month. I'm now feeling very disheartened at the prospect of another 12 month wait Sad.

Is this typical or should i see another doc?

I was told it was tests after 6 months over 35, 1 year under. I think you should push.

I'd see another doctor. We TTC'd for a year before we got referred (for DC#1). It took 11 months to get to the root of our fertility problems and another 8 months after starting treatment to conceive.

12 months.

See another doctor.

You can still try while you figure out if there is a problem. And there might well not be.

But investigations take time, so there is no good argument for delaying.

Thanks all. This was my gut feeling too but they really dont seem interested at my surgery. Time to find a new gp methinks!

I had blood tests to check at 12 months (can't remember what they were for).

I was 19.
