We are ttc #2 I am due o test in about 5 days. My 8 yr old was born with disabilities so I am really worried about getting pregnant again and ive been so careful with everything.

However I stepped in cat poo today in my front garden but didn't realize until I had taken my shoe off and got poo on my hand. I washed my hands thoroughly and used hand gel but i'm so scared . I know i'm not immune as I had a test about 4 yrs ago and I don't have cats and don't eat meat.

Im so scared

I had 2 cats and one of them actually caught toxoplasmosis when I was pregnant. I also have a friend who caught toxoplasmosis from an unknown source but presumably from something she ate. From my experience you will be fine if you wash your hands thoroughly, but you can get a blood test if you are very concerned.

If you've washed your hands thoroughly and didn't stick your fingers in your mouth beforehand then you will be fine. However if you are the kind of person to worry overly about this then see if you can get a blood test. The stress is probably more of a risk than the minuscule risk of toxo. Although the stress isn't much of a risk either to a theoretical tiny ball of cells :-) good luck with ttc!
