Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The ongoing search for BFPs now leads the BESH to the barren polar wastes, in the footsteps of Scott, Shackleton and Franklin.

Pack those reindeer sleeping bags, huskies and skis - we're off to the Antarctic to look for our BFPs. Unlike Scott, we'll eat the poniez if necessary (topical joke). Let's huddle together through the Antarctic night and we'll try not to kidnap one of the emperor penguin toddlers for our very own. Bring on blizzards, pack ice, shipwreck, attacking leopard seals, voyages across the Southern Ocean in rowing boats and hazardous traverses of South Georgia in search of rescue - just like the Shackleton expedition, NO BESH WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.

(do I win the prize for most random fred ever?)

I am only the equivalent on 10dpo, frank and I think I vaguely recall from the last hour of obsessive googling that if anything had implanted it won't be secreting hcg till tomorrow anyway.

In fact, the more I think about it, a negative test this morning was the only result that would have saved me from further obsessing. If it had been positive I'd have been wondering whether it was a baybee or the trigger shot, and if I hadn't done it I'd have been wondering what te result would have been if I had.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 24/02/2013 09:30

That's fair enough, but thought I'd offer a squeeze just in case you fancied a sneaky one.

Did I mention I'm all booked in for first thing tomorrow at the clinic. I've not got round to calling the counsellor or the reflexologist yet, I'm psyching myself up to it.

Northey · 24/02/2013 09:37

What will they be doing at the clinic?

EuroShaggleton · 24/02/2013 10:50

10dpo and not even FMU? Bad norfy. You are right to take the positive from it - you an be sure the trigger has gone when you break and test again in a day or two.

What's the appointment for frank?

Tipps how's the head lovely? Would you like a bucket of snow to bury it in and numb the pain?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/02/2013 10:55

She has gone back to the IVF thread AGAIN. She's simply unbelievable. What a horrible, horrible woman she seems to be.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/02/2013 10:56

Rasp, are you alive or should we send out a search party?

SinkyMalinks · 24/02/2013 11:15

Who is this evil type? Is it the ivf thread on conception? Will investigate...

Who was chatting about accupuncture? I dallied with a needles man a few months ago. I am no longer. Bearing in mind mine was £40 a pop, it was very relaxing- the room was cozy warm and smelt lovely. But, but but. I can't hide my inner scepticism. I jacked it in after 8 weeks. And the herbs tasted like pure powdered evil. and cost £80 for 2 weeks

How is all then? Peeing probably was sensible Norf- now you can be more certain about the next result. Which will, of course, be in about a week? Grin

I have shovels and a few sniffer husky dogs. Should we start the hunt for Tipps?

I'm about to go for a run. Wish me luck. Marathon training. 9miles. Eep.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 24/02/2013 11:37

Appointment is baseline scan and bloods to get the third, and final , OI cycle going.

RaspberrySnowCone · 24/02/2013 11:39

Sort of here, sort of alive. Just got up for half an hr but am back in bed now. Never drinking cider again, bastard stuff.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/02/2013 11:52

CIDER?

Oh Rasp :(. And it's always SUCH a good idea at the time. Nothing like it fir pure nausea.

It's just my head. It just hurts. I want to snooze but I can't, I'm not a day sleeper!

JethroTull · 24/02/2013 12:06

I had to go back to that thread too. She is full of shit.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/02/2013 12:12

I am reluctant to gang up on someone who genuinely DOES have problems having understanding others, someone with Asperger's, for example. If only she said that yes, actually she is on the spectrum, people wouldn't be so outspoken in their responses. Well I wouldn't have been. But according to her, she is perfect, made perfect choices, worked very hard (this bit I don't doubt) is therefore reaping her just rewards. Luck has had absolutely nothing to do wit it - it was all down to her perfect decision making. This is the impression she repeatedly gives.

Arf at sinks paying £40 for a cosy nice-smelling room. I wonder what the Antarctic smells like. Fish, probably. And seasalt.

Well done for phoning clinic and getting on with things anyway, frank.

Cider, rasp? Cider? Dear, dear.

Northey · 24/02/2013 12:25

What annoys me is her failure ever to respond to a particular counter to her particular argument - she just makes another unconnected but vaguely disagreeable disagreeing-with-ivf post.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/02/2013 12:33

She is like that on every bloody thread. I've lost count of the number of times I have challenged one of her more ludicrous assertions, such as a cleaner's low pay and subsequent poverty being all her own fault due to her failure to "choose" a more interesting, well paid, fun and rewarding career. She has never once responded, just carried on proclaiming her superior wisdom.

Mutter mutter.

Have you started the pill now, rie? How long is that for?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/02/2013 12:54

Took my first one this morning. Just waiting now for the boobs to get bigger. After all, that's the whole point, non?

24 days apparently. Yawn.

OP posts:
Northey · 24/02/2013 13:01

My boobs are currently exploding out of a G cup bra. Be careful what you wish for...

EuroShaggleton · 24/02/2013 13:07

My B cup overfloweth. I am already concerned that they will end up like deflated balloons after all this. Sad They are sooooo painful. I think one of the things that is waking me up in the night is whacking them as I turn over.

Cider tipps? Oh dear. I don't think I have had a cider hangover since my teens. They were never good.

sinky I liked my acu. I got on really well with the two women I saw and it was almost like a counselling thread to get things off my chest. It made a tangible difference to the dry skin on my scalp and elbows, so it must do something, although I am generally a woo sceptic.

I am still resisting going back to that thread. Must. Resist.

RaspberrySnowCone · 24/02/2013 13:08

well, my day just shit out rather spectacularly. I got the time of my stretch workshop wrong - I thought it was 2-4 but it wasn't it was 12-2. So I got a text asking where I was, rushed around like a mad thing to get ready only to go to the car and find the battery is completely fucked so now I have to stay home and wait for my dad to come and jump start the damn thing although to be honest I'm not sure that will work again as it went completely flat once before about 6 months ago. Its cuz the boot doesn't quite shut properly apparently. Stupid thing, I'm sooooo buying a new car. Was so looking forward to the workshop too! Angry

LetUsPrey · 24/02/2013 13:26

Sorry for barging into the thread but it popped up in Most Active and I clicked on it. I've only seen the last few posts but just want to say to RaspberrySnowCone that the thing with the battery going flat and your boot being open has happened to me. Do you have a light in your boot which comes on when your boot opens - a luggage light I think it's called? It's supposed to go off when you close the boot.

Anyway, if your boot isn't closing properly, the light is probably staying on which drains the battery. I took the light bulb out of my boot until I got my boot fixed. And eventually I will put the light bulb back.

I hope that helps.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 24/02/2013 13:33

S'alright folks. I know this interloper, put down your guns Wink
