Delayed ovulation

Hi folks...we're TTC dc2 and I generally follow FAM though I'm not really thorough as I've been doing it for years and know my cycles really well. I'm always 28 days with ovulation on day 14. Last month AF was 5 days late which I've since put down to me being really ill at the time I would have ov'd. (I had a fever of 39.5 for 3 days)

So my question...assuming it was due to illness and I go back to being 28 days, will it be 28 days from my delayed AF or will it somehow catch up to the old schedule? I'm asking because I'm on cycle day 12 and my egg white CM has dried up (but based on my old schedule it's day 17). I always ovulate on day 14....

Any input appreciated!

The clock restarts from day one of your period.

So is it possible that I ovulated on CD11 or 12 for this cycle? Is it normal to have a strange cycle after an abnormal cycle before it all goes back to normal?
