Crazy cycle - should I be asking for help?

I came off of the implant in August having been on various contraceptives for 10 years.

Since then I have had really long cycles which are driving me mad. 62, 53, 50 and 44 days.

Today after worrying a lot last night I finally cracked and called to make an appointment with the doctor as my last period has started Jan 4th and still no sign. Literally 10 mins later AF made an appearance.

After only six months will the doctor give a shit or will I be wasting her time?

Hormonal imbalances are often the cause of such irregular cycles; the GP should do blood tests to see if there are either any problems with the thyroid gland or if there is a condition called polycystic ovaries present. Either can cause such problems to arise.

There is no real evidence to suggest that the pill is responsible for failure to ovulate but what it can certainly do is mask symptoms of any underlying hormonal imbalance.

Do see the GP in any event; I had very long cycles and got referred after 6 months of ttc. An appt at hospital arrived six months later.

Thank you so much. We've only been TTC for three months but that's only been about 2 cycles.

I really do wonder whats going on. It's hard to know when you're worrying unduly.
