Hi

Today I'm 3dpo. At 1dpo I took a 75mg zantac tablet as I had the most dreadful heartburn imaginable, I wasn't thinking and now I've got myself into a right state thinking that if by chance I am pregnant this month I have done some damage by taking the tablet. I've previously had 2 mmc and before this my son was born with a brain abnormality - this was due to a virus I contracted whilst pg.

I've read loads of threads where women are taking it whilst pregnant due to reflux.

I'm terrified

I took it all the way through my pregnancy, absolutely nothing to worry about.

Don't worry, I've been taking it in my pregnancy too. I was prescribed it from about sixteen weeks so I'm happy that it's safe, women have been using it for a long time with no ill effects :)

I was prescribed it too when pregnant. Don't worry!

Thanks for the reassurance. Not taking anything from now on though for my sanity more than anything Smile

I see you have already been reassured, but at 1dpo your egg will still be floating around in your tubes and if it happens to fertilise, it will be quite a while before anything implants so any trace of the drug should be long gone by then.

Thank you so much the more reassurance the better!!

My GP actually switched me to 300mg daily from another pill as the Zantac is safe in pregnancy (he know's I'm TTC)

KatoPotato · 18/02/2013 17:22

yes, don't fret I was given this before my C-Section!
