Hi all,

Me and my partner have been ttc for around 2 years now, I was put on 50mg of clomifene 4 months ago.

Before then I had irregular periods but in the sense that they still came every month they just lasted for a random amount of days between 1 and 10, but since starting clomid my cycle has been bang on 28 days.

I was due to start my 4th round of clomifene on 21st jan however no period turned up and hasn't appeared so far. I had an appointment with my doctor who did a blood test to test my htc levels which came back negative for pregnancy this was around the 1st feb.

So far I have had none of the usual cramps to indicate my period is on its way, I have had a few sharp pains in my lower abdomen but was advised this is due to my PCOS.

I am now just slightly worried why its missing my doctors and the hospital haven't left me with any answers apart from "sometimes this just happens". It just usually doesn't to me I have never ever missed a period!!

I have extremely sore nipples today so much so if something so much as brushes of them I'm in agony. Also around 2 weeks ago the hospital told my I have a very thing womb lining but didn't really explain why that could be.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated :).

X

Hi, have you been scanned at all? It must be that you didn't ovulate at the expected time, which does also happen on clomid.

The thin lining could be from the clomid. This is a common side effect and if the lining is thin around ovulation you'll need to stop the clomid as you'll virtually no chance of conception. This happened to me.

Hey, sorry it meant to say thick womb lining. The doctor said it was very thick. I have had an internal ultrasound to have a look at my ovaries due to the cysts. It was at this point they told me I have a tilted womb and the thickness of the lining.

I test for ovulation every month and its usually between day 13 - 14 last month was no different.

So are you still trying? Have the put you on any more meds at all?

Ty

I think I'm in a similar situation, I have had 3 rounds of clomid, cycle one was 28 days, then 25 days, and today will be 34 with on sign of bfn or AF!

Prior to clomid I had no AF for 15 months, I was scanned for the first cycle but not the rest. I'm thinking of giving the clinic a call on Monday but I'm sure they'll just tell me to sit it out.

I like to read other people's experiences for a hit of reassurance,

Do you think they would do anything from here, I wondered whether they would up the dose although in also worried about that if they don't monitor my womb lining etc

Yes, still trying :( they put me on letrozole for my next iui instead. Starting ivf next cycle.

Good that you have a good lining. Just keep shagging in case of a late ovulation.
