thank you buzzy

it will happen soon im sure

xx

Buzzybee123 · 06/07/2013 17:51

it will my lovely, you are just taking the scenic route :)

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 06/07/2013 19:52

Buzzy, how are you?
Glad to hear of positive news on here.
Keep going teamdozie I'm a few months into TTC and have eventually stopped worrying about it.

freelancegirl · 06/07/2013 20:23

Sorry - dropped off the thread. Ari so sorry to hear you had another miscarriage. I really feel for you. Have you worked out what is your next step?

Baby buttons lovely to hear your story and nice to hear you've lurked and we hopefully might have provided some support when you were going through it all.

Everyone please don't think the thread is just for 'successful people' at this whole thing! It's for everyone who needs support or has any questions, TTC, pregnant, miscarrying and everything in between.

Baking tins. I had my little boy under Mr S, he was my 5th pregnancy the previous one having been on the treatment. I reckon total cost for two pregnancies, intralipids, scans etc have come to around £2500 in total, over two pregnancies and 9 months of seeing him (if you get pregnant and stay pregnant he discharges you from his care at 14 weeks I think. Not everyone needs intralipids. The side effects I has from steroids were mostly hunger and weight gain. Not fun when you don't stay pregnant, acceptable if you do. These went rapidly tapering off.

clabbage congrats on the scan.. thats brilliant news. The FMC is great! What is the harmony test?

Hi cornflakes of course I remember you. I stopped the hydroxy when around 30 something weeks pregnant and just stopped as I recall. No harm in tapering though.

Team dozie sorry about the BFN, it's not over yet though this month as still early. Yes it's so easy to get obsessed with testing. I've only had a positive result when my period has been late!

Mollie how is it all going?

Waves to everyone else!

teamdozie · 06/07/2013 21:03

buzzy this scenic route is getting a bit boring lol Smile

accidental every time i have conceived it was because i had stopped worrying and thinking about it.. i just need to find that place again..

freelance thank you, i think i knew it wasnt my month i mean it was an accident trial month.. july should have been our first month..

AF seems to be arriving any second.. which is REALLY early for me. Is that because of the steroids?

xx

Buzzybee123 · 06/07/2013 21:47

team the steroids can muck up your cycle, although it made my cycles longer

accidental I was thinking of you earlier, spooky :) I am ok thank you, just hanging out for my next scan which is 2 weeks away

Clabbage · 06/07/2013 23:06

buzzy how many weeks are you now?

free the harmony test is a blood test that gives you a yes/no answer to the three major chromosomal probs..Downs, Edwards and Patau. They scanned me and took bloods which they send to America and in 2 weeks I get the result. It basically bypasses the need for any intrusive testing.
Sorry to hear you are out this month team.
choccy whispered congrats. I wish you all the luck in the world.
cornflake I am just under my NHS consultant who is my absolute hero. I have been incredibly well looked after.
mollie how are you doing?
I have to say that I am getting a proper bump. It's getting quite hard to hide, I just cannot hold my belly in. I admit it's a good problem to have
/waves to everyone, thinking of those still trying so bloomin hard x

freelancegirl · 06/07/2013 23:27

Choccy! I missed the subtle announcement of your news there and had to go back as look for it after clabbage pointed it out! Congratulations indeed! How are you feeling? Has it taken a long time for this BFP?

Clabbage that test sounds amazing - all that from just a blood test! Wow. That's new I'm guessing?

Buzzybee123 · 06/07/2013 23:40

clabbage I looked into the Harmony test but my Donor is 25 so feel the risks should hopefully be low for us Hmm hope I am not kidding myself. I am now 10w5d, I've had my blood tests so I am now waiting for my scan on the 19th. I just look really fat due to all the pred and progesterone, I doubt anyone will guess for a long time Hmm

cartoontrickster · 07/07/2013 16:36

you've dropped off my threads in on list!
I'm 12+1 today. had my scan on Friday but baby was being awkward and wouldnt get in the correct position to do the nuchal! I am going back tommorrow to see the fetal med consultant to have a full check over of baby and hopefully she can do the nuchal. if all thats ok then hopefully I can relax and start to enjoy it.
we just for back from hol on thurs don't know what I was so worried about we had a lovely time and didn't spend lots of time worrying.
I feel really fat at the moment until I went away I'd only put on a pound this pregnancy I was very pleased because I put on loads last time which I hadn't lost. but I put 6lbs on on holiday! bloody pred I think my face is quite puffy too. I'm off the pred now so hopefully without that and going back to my normal routine I might lose a couple of those lbs!
congrats any preggos who I've missed can't remember who I have and haven't said it too. Blush
lots of luck to the ttcers.

Bakingtins · 08/07/2013 13:45

Thank you freelance girl

Another question (sorry). Does anyone know any stats for pregnancy success if you have treatment for NK cells?

teamdozie · 08/07/2013 15:50

Thank you for all your support ladies

AF officially arrived today so this was a 28 day cycle for me.. unheard of im normally 31..

but the way i see it is the earlier the better.. Wink

mollieboo · 08/07/2013 17:18

Hi everyone

choccy congrats on your bfp, hope you're doing good.

team sorry about bfn, you'll get there.

bakingtins I'm in the middle of treatment under Mr S, I need intralipids and scans all the way through so it is costing a bit of money and lots of emotional energy but it will be worth it I hope.

clabbage and cartoon glad things are going so well. I'm getting a bump too. I was eating so much on the steroids but have calmed right down now, just feeling nauseous and tired.

I had a private gender scan last week, I'm having a boy! I'm over the moon. For those who don't know. I lost my first boy Oscar when he was five months old, I feel very blessed to be having another one. Very nervous but trying to enjoy and have faith in my body and the treatment.

Buzzybee123 · 08/07/2013 17:35

team do you ovulate later in your cycle?? 28 days still should be ok but it is worrying when things change

mollieboo how many weeks are you and can I ask where you had this scan ???

bakingtins sorry I don't know the percentage but imagine it is quite good, I am in the middle of the treatment, I too have intralipids but I got mine from overseas and have a midwife administer it as its cheaper, I also plan to keep up with the intralipids past 16 weeks as some women on another thread have talked about late losses, supossedly your nk cells can falir up around 16 weeks??? I am not sure but I have a box of ten so might as well use them

Can I ask those that took hydroxy, did you stop at 16 weeks or did you take it for longer??

Hello to everyone else

cartoontrickster · 08/07/2013 17:43

wow mollie a boy! how lovely big congrats!
i went to see the fetal med consultant today she was happy with things. the nt measurement was 1.5mm which I think is ok as she seemed to think we would be low risk this time but they are going to phone me to let me know in a couple of days. then I'm off for a drip and scan with Mr s on sat.

duggs1976 · 08/07/2013 17:48

Fab news mollieGrin

Bakingtins there doesn't seem to be a reliable source re nk cells but if ONLY NK cells are your issue then eventually the stats seems pretty good. Claims of 85 percent success. Given that recurrent mc stats are 70 percent anyway that is an improvement. Trouble seems to occur with people who identify NkCells but sometimes there are other issues at play ( usually a reason why the NK cells are activated in the first place) like hidden infections etc or low ovarian reserve egg quality issues etc. so advice from here is if only going for top line testing (like dr s does) be vigilant and aware that the NK diagnosis isn't always the whole picture and sometimes more investigations are needed to try to address the underlying issues. On the whole most ladies on this thread seem to be ok with top line treatment but then again we are only a snap shot and people not successful tend to slope away with just a few of us old timers who've been hanging about for over 2 years with nowt to show aside from a poorer bank balance. Just giving you while picture. If you are rich then go for full dr Gorgy testing from the offset £2-£3k but few of us are Wink but some of us have ended up there and are glad we did. Hope this helps.

duggs1976 · 08/07/2013 17:50

Buzzy pls can I ask about intrallipids with midwife option ? How do I go about more info on this? Many thanks

Buzzybee123 · 08/07/2013 19:03

I was given an email for a pharmacy in Greece I can PM you I got 10 250 ml packs it cost 140 euros including postage, you pay by Western Union which you can do online, the Midwife I go to is in Dulwich she charges me £100 + £1.50 for the saline

duggs1976 · 08/07/2013 19:31

Thanks buzzy that would be great thank you Grin I will have to do before my IVF round next month just for extra precaution

mollieboo · 08/07/2013 21:01

Thanks all, buzzy I'm 16 weeks and had my scan in South Wales.

For info I'm having lipids till 32 weeks due to prem birth, I have them done at an ivf clinic near me in Wales for £250 a time.

Arianrhod · 09/07/2013 10:04

duggs Also bear in mind if you have the ILs already (great tip there buzzy!) you can go to INS in Harley St and they charge £75 (saline is free) to administer them for you.

Bakingtins · 09/07/2013 10:58

Thank you duggs. Is that 85% of pregnancies going to term, or 85% of people eventually get to take home a baby (potentially with further miscarriages along the way?)
I'm sick of that 70% statistic, I keep being told that one, it doesn't bloody help if you are consistently in the 30% who miscarry again and again!
We are very lucky to have 2 beautiful boys. I've been TTC no 3 for 2 years and to be honest all we have to show for it is continual misery and a hole in our bank account. We paid for private RMC investigations after 2 miscarriages in a row (3 in total as I also had one between the boys) were told there was nothing wrong, your chances are probably better than the 70% given that you already have had children, and then had another miscarriage. Since seen the NHS RMC lot and there is basically nothing they can do for us.
I wish I had a crystal ball - it would be worth any amount of money and treatment if I knew it meant we got our baby. I'm nearly 39 so realistically time is running out for us, though my ovarian reserve is "satisfactory" and we don't appear to have had any chromosome issues. I'm worried that there is always going to be another test, another treatment that we could try. I don't want to be another couple of years down the line, even poorer and more miserable.

duggs1976 · 09/07/2013 15:13

Well bakingtins mr a says when u first meet him there is no such thing as bad luck. A few mc on his treatment and it is bad luck apparently Wink so who really knows. As you have children already then there is a high chance nk cells could be your issue as obviously other things were working before. You have a good chance if that is your diagnosis as nk cells develop strongly after pregnancies !

duggs1976 · 09/07/2013 15:13
