Hello Ladies.
I've been a long time lurker and longer term TTCer (over 18 months). You have helped to keep me sane in the wee small hours and it was such a comfort to hear of others in similar situations. I don't know why I never took the plunge and posted earlier - think I was a bit too miserable at times!
I found that I was pregnant this week - only just over a week after an internal scan confirmed my suspicion that i had polycystic ovaries. I don't seem to have the syndrome but have slightly wonky ovaries. I was due to start clomiphene soon but, fingers crossed, I hopefully won't need to. The internal scan is really really nothing to worry about and wasn't at all sore just a bit odd! The probe thing looks pretty funny! Don't worry - it's really skinny with a little bobble head.
I wanted to let you know that when you least expect it you can find yourself pregnant. In the last few months I've been focussing hard on other aspects of life - getting out of an exhausting and stressful job, doing nice things i enjoy and taking the opportunity to do other things I'll be less able to if/when we have a family.
Top tips - relax (in my case change job), book a holiday that you can't really afford (a foodie one with lots of cocktail drinking planned), buy an expensive dress for a wedding that's months away, have as much sex as possible (we tried SO hard this month even though we thought it would probably be fruitless), eat healthily (I really cut down on carbs) and take a decent multi vitamin religiously.
For the symptom spotters - the things that made me think I was pregnant were not consistent with my normal PMT signs. I've pee-d on a million sticks but this time it just confirmed what I felt I already knew. I waited until the 18th day after ovulation to test - a strange sense of calm had washed over me! I have thought that I might be pregnant before but this time was different. So symptoms -white CM like a creamy white lotion occasionally with wee thicker white stretchyish "bits" every day since ovulation (still have this), on off cramping (really quite intense at times and a couple of times I did think my period was about to start), weird dull yet stabby feelings in my tummy most noticeably on day 9 after ovulation, dull ache in my lower back (starting about the time my period was due) and a blue vein showing through one of my nipples (about ten or so days after ovulation). My breasts are normally tender before my period but this time my nipples also got noticeably larger. They weren't sore though.
I hope this info is a small repayment for all the support I have had as a lurker!! It's very early days and I'm just delighted to know that it is possible for me to fall pregnant naturally.
Best of luck to you all x
