Do you definitely ovulate every month?

Hi,
At the risk of sounding thick, not sure if I've ovulated this month!! Have used ovulation kits but nothing has shown up as to when I've ovulated. Any thoughts??

Hiya

Do you track your temperatures as well? It s a bit of a faff about but it really is quite illuminating in getting to know your cycle. I have been using OPKs and temping and I have seen a temperature shift (confirming ovulation) when i missed it with the OPKs...so I guess the moral of the story is you can ovulate and not get a positive OPK because you might miss the surge in between tests. Some people test twice a day over the likely period so they don't miss the surge (using Internet cheapies)

Although I think most people ovulate every month, everyone can get an anovulatory cycle (where ovulation doesn't take place) occasionally.

Ps. What day of your cycle are you? I have ovulated from Days 10 to 16 - so depending where you are you might need to keep going!!

Hi,
Many thanks for replying. Don't track temp. On day 20 of cycle, so AF due next week, did the deed all last week, only have one working fallopian tube. OPKs showed I ovulated last month. Maybe a dud set of tests this month. Will test twice in a day, good idea!! Thanks!!

Hi, its totally normal not to ovulate every month

My GP said that many women have one or two annovulatory cycles in a year. The other option is just that you missed the surge with the OPKs.
