CD21 (7DPO) Progesterone Test

Hi, I had this test done earlier this week and got the results today...the nurse told me that the test was fine and "indicative of ovulation" and the level quoted was 38.

Does anyone know that the 38 means - obviously I am pleased I am ovulating Smile but I temp and use OPK's so I was pretty sure I was. I do have quite a short luteal phase though and wondered if this was due to low progesterone?

Anyone have more of clue than me?

Hi green - mine was done this month too and level was 38.6
GP said anything over 30 confirms ovulation and like you I temp and use opks so was greatly relieved.

Not sure if that's enough to sustain a pregnancy as 21 day test is done at 7 dpo and implantation doesn't complete till 7-12 dpo so I would think it should go higher if fertilisation happened.

38 is fine, anything over 30 is considered to show ovulation has occurred. So all good. As the progesterone rises to a peak and then falls, it is difficult to know if the day 21 test is at the peak or just before/after. So the actual number is not too

When you say you have a short luteal phase - how short? Are your temp and opk aligning to pinpoint clear ovulation time?

Yes my temps and OPK's typically align and I get other signs too (ovulation pain and changes in CM). My luteal is typically around 11/2 days which isn't super short but still not as good as 14.

Maybe I am just freaking out a bit because last month I had a weird cycle that lasted only 20 days and I didn't get a positive OPK until CD19 then the following day AF started with a vengeance. My temps indicated I may have o'd on CD10 which gave me a LP of 10 days.

11/12 days literal phase is normal, I have become pregnant 12 times with this (3 children). No need to worry about low progesterone with this.

As for positive opk the day before af this is also normal, there is an LH surge just before af.

Short cycles are not a problem, I frequently ovulated early and with a 12 day lp, my cycles were normally 24 days and my fertility definitely not affected.

So I offer reassurance that you don't need to be worrying about the length of your cycle, you are ovulating that is the most important factor. And even better with shorter cycles you get more chances than others over a year to get pregnant. I hope you get preg soon.
