Not started a new Fred before but hope it is successful for us as we are going to get our BFPs, either by traditional rat smacking activities or using the power of medical science.

Ladies I do declare WE WILL GET THERE - FACT !!!

ok, random question, after some research I've put myself on extra Vit C, Vit E, Vit B6 the B6 is just for after I OV as I found out it can help reduce post OV spotting. Plus I've put the OH on vits which no doubt he'll forget to take and extra Vit C as it's meant to be really important for healthy sperm. Just wondered if anyone else has looked at vitamins as a way to speed up the TTC process? TBH I'm willing to try anything and am open to any tips Grin

keepitgoing · 02/02/2013 08:31

Ah olives that's so exciting!! What a long journey you've had to get here, I'm so pleased for you. :)

keepitgoing · 02/02/2013 08:33

Hi Cleo I posted the other day about the millions of pills my dh is on.
I'm currently just on a preconception vitamin, and omega fish oil.
But clearly my tips aren't working as I'm still here. Do the opposite!! ;)

Solars · 02/02/2013 08:47

Olives wow, I can't believe that has come around so quickly! Good luck to you and the other tripe whammies!

Keep we do see SIL and bro often but I'm usually accosted by their kids. I don't know we'll see, maybe it'll all come out when I can put all this ttc behind me. I'm glad you're feeling positive, its always good to have a sob with DH.

Cleo I was always of the mind that if you eat healthy then you shouldn't have to worry about extra vits, I have however succumbed to omega 3 and Q10 recently and also looking at the zita west vits Hmm I guess preconception vits are also a good option. DH is just on the vit c.

CruCru · 02/02/2013 09:54

Hi Cleo

My clinic are very keen for everyone to take a vitamin D supplement. They ask me whether I'm taking it (and baby aspirin) every time I see them - they think it really helps conception as most people in the UK are a bit deficient in the winter. Also, take folic acid as well, for when you do conceive.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/02/2013 09:57

Geek that's amazing news about your appointment! T-16 days!! How you feeling about it all?

Olives, where on earth has the time one?!

Keep no news on result of CF test yet. Should be here soon hopefully. When the pain hits it's normally here for 36 hours. Then it goes. My periods are also quite light. At the moment I'm at the blasted stage before it hits. The joy Grin

Cleo I honestly don't think vitamins have any beneficial effects unless you are deficient in something. With the exception of folic acid. Just be careful of some of the high strength vit c tablets as they can have harmful side effects.

Withalittlesparkle · 02/02/2013 10:14

keep what eagle eyes you have!! You're right twinkle is no longer a UBB rather a BBBB (baby boy brooking bean) 20+1 today!!

You're right about TTC too, you become so focused on getting a BFP that the actual baby thing just takes a back seat! Like olives I feel wildly unprepared, in fact it was only really at my scan on Thursday that it truly started to sink in!!

On the vitamin front, for months and months I took every supplement under the sun, but the month I go pregnant I was taking a prenatal vitamin, evening primrose and agnus castus! My pill popping that month was erratic at best!! The last two were to help with my irregular cycles!!

As maybe said its only if your body is in need of something that you really need to load up! cleo have you spoken to your doc about post OV bleeding?

cru how are you feeling today? I'd be testing every day!! I did.... 4 days in a row and then again a week later!!!!

cartoontrickster · 02/02/2013 10:54

do I spy a bfp from cru!
keep I know what you mean, I'm so focused on getting pregnant and staying pregnant that sometimes I forget what its all for.
sparks I'm so jealous of how far along you are! I can't wait to be at a stage where I can relax slightly and enjoy it. had a bit of a panic yesterday over some red blood but that seems to have stopped now. I'm currently under house arrest.

keepitgoing · 02/02/2013 11:12

Argh face this bubba is certainly keeping you on your toes! Sorry about the bleeding, but you know the reason. Do you have any more scans coming up? Hope house arrest isn't driving you too bonkers.

A boy, sparks, how lovely! And you're halfway there! I really hope some of us will overlap pregnancies with you.

maybe, could they be any slower with your results. Hope work and job stuff is OK, at least you have lots to occupy yourself as you wait.

cru, line update please!

cartoontrickster · 02/02/2013 11:30

its so annoying but I'm supposed to rest. they saw a small bleed on my scan but didn't really have any answers why. could mean ill mc. could be a previous preg that didn't really get started. could be burst blood vessel. etc etc. so I just have to hope it doesn't get worse. I'm hoping that the red blood yesterday was the majority of that bleed coming out and that its all ok now.

ControlGeek · 02/02/2013 11:39

sparks OMG you're having a BBBB!!!! Yay - you can now plan nursery colours and things accordingly Smile

keep no, I've not been given a pre-op appointment yet, but I had to complete and send back asap a pre-op assessment questionnaire. I think they determine from that, and from when your op is due, when to give you the pre-op assessment. There was a question on there 'do you have any queries or concerns you wish to discuss' so I've said yes, I want to remove the ovarian drilling from my procedures list. Grrr to practical men! Don't they know we just sometimes want them to listen and let us cry? Hope you start to feel better soon, and get your old energy back. You will need it for your impending BFP, whether it be by IUI or IVF.

olives I cannot believe that that time has come around already - it really does just feel like a few weeks ago when you, bartlet and little made brooking history. Brooking for your sneeze births!

cleo after 12 years there's very little I haven't considered! At present MrG is on wellman conception vits, horny goat weed with maca (thanks keep I have just bought two months' worth for £29, beats the hell out of 2 weeks' worth for £24 Grin ), high dose vitamin C, high dose vitamin E and taurine. I am taking a standard multivitamin with iron, folic acid, vitamin C and 4000 standard units of vitamin D3 each day. I used to take EPO, B6 and agnus castus, but my already wacky cycles just went insane. After a 60+ day one, I stopped both. The one that seems to have made the most difference (or it could just be coincidence) is the D3. My cycles were anything from 28 to 60+ days in length. Since starting the D3, ov has been on or around CD19 every time. This month my EWCM has been super-prolific so a shame we daren't DTD!

maybe T-16 and loving it Grin I probably shouldn't be this excited about undergoing such an extensive procedure but I'm actually thrilled. My mum has said she will come over the day after the op as MrG has to go back to work, so I'm looking forward to that as much as anything. I don't see her anywhere near often enough. Brooking for your CF result, hope it comes through soon for you.

Ov is definitely imminent for me, but I don't think it's going to happen today. I have worked out that as long as I ov no later than three days from now, AF will be due on or before the day of the op. The sticks are looking like I might get a +OPK either tomorrow or Monday, so it's anyone's guess. To play it safe, MrG and I are not going to DTD any more this month.

My cramps are normally fairly bad for about 4 hours, but manageable, but this last month I had to take the day off work and I was curled up on the sofa crying, they were so bad. This month, I'm handling AF the way she deserves to be handled - surgical removal!!

GreenOlives · 02/02/2013 14:10

On the subject of vits I have taken lots of weird and wonderful combos over the years of TTC but I would agree with the others who have mentioned D3 - its also supposed to prevent early miscarriage once you are pregnant. I think that with a prenatal multi vit is most important but I also took Q10, Omega 3 and Selenium. Zinc is good for the boys to help the swimmers too! Smile

keepitgoing · 02/02/2013 14:16

Let us know how the horny goat weed works geek Blush God, what is ovarian drilling sounds scary and why don't you want it?

sweetie have you seen the donor egg success on the egg buddies thread... Just sayin' ;)

NewYearNewBoo · 02/02/2013 17:20

Loving all the vitamin talk, DH takes a lot any way (vit c, omega 3, cod liver) for his body building I can only see him building a bay window at the moment though Grin but when we were ttc he also started on argenine to increase blood flow round the body, specifically .......... you know .......... Wink

MotherOfCleo · 02/02/2013 17:40

boo ive heard argenine can be good but both me an OH suffer from coldsores so cant take it, its one of the things which can trigger them. I take a prenatal vit too, do you think I need to take extra Vit D too or will the prenatal cover it? I'm taking extra Vit E, C and B6 to try an level my hormomes a bit.

CruCru · 02/02/2013 17:49

Have a look at the components of the prenatal; it should include vitamin D and folic acid.

NewYearNewBoo · 02/02/2013 17:50

Aah yes, a cold sore, in my experience, is a bit of a passion killer!! Not sure about the level of vits, I was on take pregnacare ttc ones, and now on the normal preggo ones, they say on the box what percentage of rda they contain. Not sure about extra vits on top of those though

GreenOlives · 02/02/2013 20:14

My consultant recommended extra Vit D3 in addition to what's in the Pregnacare Smile

MotherOfCleo · 02/02/2013 20:21

cheers olive another one to add to the mix. I've checked that nothing I'm taking can be dangerous so FX it helps us make a bubba Grin

keepitgoing · 03/02/2013 08:00

Cleo you're early days, so it's most likely just a case of catching that perfect egg, and smacking the rat at the right time, of course...

boo bodybuilding...? Does he look like Arnie?! My dh has started doing weights and that since we came out here and he doesn't work shifts, but I did not want him too muscly a way to go yet..

Have a good Sunday everyone.

keepitgoing · 03/02/2013 08:01
