Not started a new Fred before but hope it is successful for us as we are going to get our BFPs, either by traditional rat smacking activities or using the power of medical science.

Ladies I do declare WE WILL GET THERE - FACT !!!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 19/03/2013 12:06

sweetie hope you managed to get some sleep last night, but I've take some fish out of the freezer to be defrosted just in case you need a slap later :o I find it really hard to sleep when there's stuff going round and round in my head, so I'm often awake from 4 am Hmm

Happy birthday mrkeep

So today I've had two calls with no caller id that I've ignored cos I'm still sick, but now I realise that the only time this has happened before it was the clinic calling. Bollocks Bollocks Bollocks I hope they call back soon.

cartoontrickster · 19/03/2013 16:24

hi.
not really sure what to do with myself anymore.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 19/03/2013 16:29

Keep T-3! Hope DH had a great birthday, what did you do in the end for it?

Beedle I hope if its the clinic that they call you back soon. I always have to answer when it's blocked or unknown in case it's my work. It's bloody annoying as I then get trapped on the phone with telesales or people I really didn't want to speak to Smile

Sweetie I hope you slept a bit better last night. I didn't know you get asked about what to do in case of divorce, death etc...

Anyone got any tips for tomorrow? Any questions I should ask?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 19/03/2013 16:32

Hi Toon sorry I cross posted with you. I've been thinking about you and your little bean a lot over the past week. Im really sorry this happened to you, it's just awful. I can't imagine how your feeling x

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 19/03/2013 16:32

Cartoon you need time to heal, there is no rush to do anything yet. Take your time Thanks

cartoontrickster · 19/03/2013 16:48

I just feel like its so unfair and a bit angry now along side the sadness.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 19/03/2013 17:08

It isn't fair and I think it's totally understandable that you feel angry x

SweetieTime · 19/03/2013 22:24

Cartoon so sorry for your loss, just lurk or post if you feel it help. We are here to help, listen, support, whatever you need from us really {{{hugs}}}

Cup good luck for tomorrow. Try not to stress or get upset. Note any questions and write stuff for later review. It all happens really quickly so try be prepared. Will be thinking of you.

Keep T-2 any more thoughts on if to test early unless you have already caved but not telling us ?

OP posts:
Solars · 20/03/2013 08:11

It's very understandable to feel that way Face but be gentle with yourself Thanks

Good luck Cups brooking for your appointment

Sweetie hope the sleep is getting better. Have you heard anymore of timescales from you clinic? Do they update you on the donors scans etc?

Keep hope you're doing ok, is it T-1?

Beedle hope you hear from your clinic soon, isn't it annoying getting blocked calls and them never leaving messages, grr on your behalf. Hope you're feeling better too.

Work is keeping me very busy, sometimes get to read but not enough time to post at the moment. I thought everyone had heard of Ayurveda? I guess you could describe it as the Indian equivalent to Chinese medicine. It was interesting that she said similar things as my acupuncturist too and she's also treating DH which is good as he wouldn't see the acupuncturist. Not much else to report at the moment.

How is everyone else? *Maybe, Geek? Hope you're all ok.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 20/03/2013 09:46

I was surprised I hadn't heard of it Solars, DH had and I like to think I'm smarter than him Grin that's interesting that they are saying similar things to the acupuncturist. I cancelled my acupuncture when my grandad became unwell, I was planning in making another appointment next week. I've got poor circulation, my hands & feet are always cold. After extensive googling I've decided this is why we are struggling Blush so I've been trying to keep them warm & I've started drinking hot water & trying to drink a lot of water generally.

I'm trying not to worry about my appointment, it's not until 4pm. I keep thinking they are going to tell me my amh is 0.12 or something, that was last nights nightmare anyway. Ill take a pen & paper with me Sweetie Smile oh & I've organised all our info so far into a nice file!

Keep T-2, hope you are doing ok.

Cartoon thinking of you Thanks

keepitgoing · 20/03/2013 09:47

cups!! Good luck today! I'd ask about the protocol (long or short, and why), ivf/icsi, how many scans etc. Success rates. Good luck x

cartoon, nothing to say other than thinking of you at this awful time, and you'll get through this. Are you off work?

beads did y talk to the clinic in the end?

It's T-2 here, testing Friday morning. I haven't caved in yet, as I'm too much of a wuss. Plus many clinics test on 16dp egg collection, and mind's 14, so today at 12 might be too early. No clue if it's worked...

ScarlettInSpace · 20/03/2013 12:13

Hello brookers, sorry for recent absence, am going to be a bit of an occasional poster for while x

face firstly so sorry to hear your news, I can't imagine what you are going through, just please try to look after yourselves xx

sweetie am glad to hear you are now on track, very excitin, am brooking like mad for you! I think what you're doing is amazing, as I've said before DE is not something I can get my head round at all for me so I'm completely in awe of how you have accepted and moved forwards with the whole thing x

keep good luck for Friday & cups good luck for tomorrow!

beedle rubbish that you're sick but hopefully the universe has decreed you have to be at home sick to answer the call from the clinic Wink

Waves to everyone else Smile

Personally I'm up and down really but struggling really, I'm flying wildly between positivity that I can overcome this & despair that I should just accept my eggs are fukked and get over it.

After much talks with OH I have agreed to carry on and try the IUI despite feeling that it is ultimately pointless and we are only doing it because it's on the NHS but I am not expecting it to change anything. IUI is designed to solve sperm problems and that is not an issue we have at all.

Need to pull my head out of my arse really Hmm

GenericDietCola · 20/03/2013 14:45

Cartoon, I was so sorry to hear your news. Take your time to recover.

Cups, my tip for poor circulation is cinnamon. I ate it on my porridge every day when TTC as it's supposed to help with blood flow to your womble.

Brooking for everyone else. assisted or otherwise. We are due a flurry of BFPs and I will brook no argument.

SweetieTime · 20/03/2013 15:43

Scarlett just take things at your own pace. it is a massive emotional journey we are all on and then add the meds to thinds and I am surprised we aren't all basket cases. I think the reason I have been able to accept the egg donor situation is because of my very good friend who has a dd through DE. I see them and it all seems like the most normal thing on the world. The origin of her being never even enters anyones head.

OP posts:
cartoontrickster · 20/03/2013 16:19

its so strange at first I was saying no never again but today I feel desparate to try again. but really we should wait for our bloods to come back and the histology on pebble to find out if it was just a one off or if there is a chromosome problem with me or dh. have been back at work this week but felt crap about things again today so have been at home.
sparks will be alone over on grads soon with boo due in 4wks or so.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 20/03/2013 16:42

Don't worry about us grads Cartoon I'm not leaving Sparks :) did the Dr indicate a time scale to expect results?

Take your time with everything, that includes work!

Popping by to say hiya to everyone else, where are you all up to appointment wise? I know Keep is confirming soon :):)

cartoontrickster · 20/03/2013 16:55

ill have an appointment to discuss the results in about 6weeks. well 5 now. feels like a life time.
sorry I have no idea what's going on with everyone.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 20/03/2013 18:57

Hi Brookers,

I'm back from my appointment. We had some not so good news. DH's sperm result was poor. The count was 14 million and morphology was only 3. It was a bit of a shock as last time it was 57 million and the morphology was 8. They are recommending ICSI on long protocol. DH is upset understandably. On a more positive note we will get 3 cycles on the NHS, my AMH was 19 which I assume is good?! And the AFC was 16 if that means anything to anyone. We have signed all the consents etc.. They said it could take up to a month for it all to be formalised and we will receive a letter. After that we can request treatment on day 1. However they can refuse treatment on two consecutive cycles if they are busy so worst case scenario we could be waiting 5 months to start.

Solars · 20/03/2013 20:37

Oh Cups it's amazing how these sperm results can vary, poor DH. That's great you get 3 goes and brooking you get to start very soon now. Your other figures sound great too especially your afc. It must be a relief to be getting somewhere now.

Scarlett lovely to see you around and glad you've made a decision on iui. I too feel my eggs are rubbish. Are you starting on any new supplements? I read on another forum that someone who knew an embryologist said that they can tell the difference between the quality of eggs if someone had been taking zita west pre-concept supplements, hence why I started on them, but my acupuncturist also recommended them too. Worth a shot I guess.

Hope you're feeling less stressed and emotional Sparkes

By the way the Ayurveda herbs are quite gross tasting, I'm hoping the grosser they are the more likely they'll be doing some good to my body Confused

keepitgoing · 21/03/2013 03:03

cartoon I know it'll be hard but I think it makes sense to wait and see the test results. Is there a possibility the steroids kept the pregnancy going longer than it might have otherwise? I really hope they have some answers for you xxxxx

Scarlett good on you for trying the iui. Might as well, hey! It's not invasive or stressful in my experience. It's not just MF, can also help if a slightly hostile environment, iykwim. Will you do medicated?

cups, SA does change loads. Don't let mrcups be too down, icsi's not very different really. Three cycles is brill (more if you get frosties?) And a whopping AFC and good amh means you're likely to get lots of eggs, and good fertilisation with icsi. So, it could be as soon as 5 weeks!! V excited for you. You'll cross pregnancies with your sister, you mark my words.

geek are you OK?

solars that's the law - the worse something tastes the better it is for you. Is dh on some too?

boo I hope you don't mean you'll be keeping sparks company by having a 55 week pregnancy... ;)

sparks I'm so sorry for your loss sweetheart.

I'm nearly there. 21 hours or so. Have just seen all my pregnancy tests should be stored under 30 degrees, which they haven't been. Should I buy more? I will test first thing, then have a blood test at 2.30pm and see the doctor for results at 4. I feel sick just thinking about it. Dh I think has convinced himself, or tried to, that it's not worked, but I think will still be v upset if it's a No.

keepitgoing · 21/03/2013 03:05

Oh face I hope that doesn't sound insensitive. I can totally understand the anger. It's NOT fair, you're right.

cartoontrickster · 21/03/2013 06:42

keep I have wondered that myself. not sure ill know the answer to that or if I even want to. mainly I want to know what sex pebble was and what we need to do next time to make it work.

ControlGeek · 21/03/2013 07:50

Sorry for radio silence ladies, I've had to brook from afar as I've been working 15 hour days since I got back from the weekend. I now have a rotten cold and am taking it as a sign that I need to trim back a bit. Unfortunately it is Upgrade Weekend, so lots of extra hours needing to be worked.

keep less than T-1 now!!! Exciting stuff :) Good to hear you are testing on your own, so that you can prepare your emotions either way for the dr's confirmation. It might be worth getting more tests in, but will the shop have stored them below 30 either? I know the CB plus type tests give a very strong positive when they are out of date but I don't know if heat would affect pink tests in the same way. I feel an experiment coming on!

sparks hope you are taking it easy my lovely, it's been a really rotten week for you. Sod work, you're what counts.

cartoon I agree with the other ladies, no sense in rushing. I hope the test results bring you the answers you need to help you on your way to your brooking baby. Will you still be under the care of the anti-immune consultant? Those drugs certainly seemed to make a difference.

Sorry, I'm out of time already :( AF due on either Saturday or Sunday, great timing! Still, I have next week off yay :)

cartoontrickster · 21/03/2013 08:08

geek i could be if I want to keep paying but I'm almost broke now. I'm going to see what the NHS will do. the consultant seemed to think I could get referred to st Mary's x
