Hi all!

Super excited as scheduled to have the contraceptive implant out on 5th feb so we can start ttc DC2!!

Has anyone had the implant out and then ttc straight away? How long did it take for cycles to go back to normal?

DD was a surprise baby so looking forward to officially 'try' !!

TIA xx

Hi! I had mine out in the May and was pregnant at the beginning of July. I was a bit panicky though as I'd read that it could take 6-12 months (I think) to start ovulating again. I used ovulation POAS to see and I think I ovulated 2 weeks-ish after the implant was removed.

So it can happen quickly, although the midwife was surprised I'd conceived so quickly after removal.

Fingers crossed!

Conceived first cycle after mine was taken out. Anecdotally, many women seem to be hyper fertile when it is taken out and quick BFPs are common. So good luck!

Thank you both! So excited!

Well you never know...valentines day may be the day haha!

I know things may take a while etc so please no one burst my happy bubble just yet! :-D

I had mine removed on September 4th and have been TTC ever since and nothing. I still haven't properly detected ovulation either. It is SO disheartening!

Mine was taken out had a period a week later, BFP 4 or 5 weeks after that. Smile

I also got my AF two weeks after I had the implant out.

OrangeLily · 20/01/2013 17:35

I got mine out in August, cycles are still all over the place.

Last few:
66 days
35 days
50 days

and currently on day 16 of the next one :(

Thank you for the mixed views :-) sorry to hear about those of you who are still yet to concieve. Fingers crossed for you all!

To be honest im not quite sure when we'll find the time to dtd before falling asleep each night lol so it may take a while for us too.

Hi I had my implant removed in Nov, just had my first AF since. Heard that you have a high chance of falling preg straight away but didn't happen for me. I used opk tho and def ovulating so things can get normal very quickly :) don't get disheartened if they don't tho because I read far too much about people falling straight away and when I didn't it was harder to accept

Bangonthedoor · 20/01/2013 20:21

Thank you dowk

I suppose we'll see what happens in the coming months. Im hoping my 8mo old will keep me busy enough not to think about ttc all the time!
