Morning everyone, just let me wolf down this amazing meal of tinned tongue, hardboiled eggs and ginger beer (don't you find food always tastes so much better outside?) and we'll toddle off on our latest adventure. We'll make sure Anne does the washing up (you'll make a proper little housewife and no doubt the fecund mother of four fine sons one day Anne ) and us boys can have the proper adventures! No, not you George - you're nearly as good as a boy but not quite. Leave the actual procreating to me and Dick. Woof woof! Shut up Timmy!

This has been a beastly day, chums. My 8 hour shift became a 15 hour shift, and when I got home I discovered I had lost my keys. I drove to HWCA to get his keys, as he was at work, and when I FINALLY got home my own keys magically reappeared. Harrumph.

Will send lots of positive thoughts your way overnight Jeff

Head engaged means that the head has settled down into the pelvis, so in birthing position. I'm only 36+5 wks, though, and it could still be weeks before +One's grand entrance.

Sorry to read about your dad Rie.

Glad that the gnomes returned your keys Winks. Norty gnomes.

Couldn't sleep for worrying about a deadline today for which I have done NOTHING. Yesterday, which I'd set aside for it, was one interruption after another. Anyway, I'm on my way in to the office now, to hide in a side room with some coffee and chocolate biscuits and backbone and get something done.

I have to find a slot for drug delivery too, and my diary is just packed for the next two weeks. Work are great and have said that ivf shiz is my priority, but that doesn't help me rearrange things when everything is so urgent.

IOTO!

Every time I looked up the other day, Frankel was galloping across the work screens, by the way :)

Glad to hear it Norf - no day is complete without a Frankel fix Grin

Good that work are being supportive, just the way it should be. I had a chat with my new boss (she took over at the start of the year) and she was very good. She said her sister and several friends have been through IVF so she knows what a head-screwer fertility issues can be.

Everything crossed for The One, jeff.

I was most impressed at Frankel being officially The Best. Still, not sure he'll ever supersede Desert Orchid as my favourite racehorse, though.

Know how you feel at work norf. Glad you have a supportive employer; my "employer" (though technically I'm not an employee) has a policy re ivf, but in practice they're as arsebadger-y about that as everything else.

How is the little embie doing today jeff?

draf seems a little sacrilegous - to a no-nothing 'bout horseys person. That makes me a bad famous five, right? Unless I am Timmy or god forbid Anne.

Sorry work is on paper supportive, but in practice useless, norf and twinkle. I haven't had to try or tell anyone at work, I have a reasonable amount of flexibility so the one IUI that happened on a week day, I claimed to need to work from home for the morning to wait for a parcel of swimmers It will be more challenging with IVF. But then we're not doing that until April/May/June, because we're going on a three week holiday in March :)

How is work for the deadline going norf? I am writing another paper this weekend, and having a study day to do the first bit tomorrow morning...

Shall we go camping in the snow this weekend? With a caravan and an open fire seem to be channeling more of a cowboys and indians story there but hey Cook/mother has made us flapjack :)

Report
ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 17/01/2013 09:55

Definitely. With simply a canvas tent, sleeping on bare ground, and cotton sleeping bags. I might go for a bathe! After all, only girls get cold.
