This is the first period I have had for about 6 years. They definitly were not like this. Have been steadily bleeding since day one. Today very bad period pains and a near flooding!! Blush but this afternoon it has gotten steady again. Should I worry or not???

hi gemms...have just posted on april thread, didnt see this one. You really need someone a bit more informed than me, but for the record, my last af was 21-22 days , lots of really really heavy bleeding, i was advised to see gp. By time i got appt at gp bleeding had stopped but he did keep asking me if i could have been prg - i think he thought i may have had a very early mis. Along with fact that me and dh been trying a while have now been referred to gyne. Have you done a test?? someone will come along in a sec with better advice than me.
((((hugs)))))

Hi Gemma

I would try not to worry, as this is your first period for several years it's likely that your hormones are just sorting themselves out. Generally, these things go one of two ways, either you bleed for longer than normal, or you only bleed for a few days. If you're really worried then go and see your gp, but he will likely advise that as this is your first period, it's likely to last longer, and the longer it lasts, the more likely it is that you'll be sorted by the end of it. good luck x
