Egg Donations

I have spent the last year studying the comments on this site around egg donation to try and determine how I would really feel if, should it work, my becoming a donor to my sister would feel for me, my sister and my family.
Second time round it has, and come the summer my sisters long long hard journey will bring her the baby she so desires. It's a wonderful gift to give , but terribly tough. Think long and hard if you are thinking of doing the same, boy is it so so amazing to give such a gift but make sure you are rock solid first!!

What an amazing and lovely thing to do. I can imagine how huge a decision it was but in the moment you see your sister with her little dream come true I'm sure you'll feel that you did the right thing x

Thank you - I can't wait to meet my new neice / nephew!!!
What I have noticed about the threads is there is very little comments from the donors themselves. As a huge proportion must be mums themselves ( they wouldn't let me donate unless I had finished my family) it would be great to see more discussions in regards to known donation and the pros / cons of committing to it. We had to see councellors but nothing beats a good chat (: !!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I think what you have done is awesome!! The gift you have given is so special. I tried to be an egg donor for my best friend but it didn't work, but I know the heartache that she and her husband have been through and still continue to go through. I wish I could have saved her this pain. I hope everything goes well for your sister and I am sure she will be grateful to you forever, you are a very special person xx

Thanks for your reply! Sorry to hear that your donation wasn't sucessful - the first time ( and I vowed I would only try once) I was so upset that the months of counselling , drugs, injections, conversations didn't work. To see my sister so gutted with the negative result was v sad. You are truly an amazing friend to have given so much - Im sad if didn't work x
