Does anyone know if this is true? Anyone had any experience of this? I had a chemical pregnancy last month and would love to know of anyone who has been in a similar situation and got pregnant soon after? X

Sorry but my consultant sadly says not. There is a bit of a blip in pregnancies shortly after miscarriage but he reckons its because people are often just determined to be pg again and do all they can to make it happen.

Doesn't mean it won't happen though. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy Hannah , even an early loss can be devastating.
In my experience, I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks last March, waited for one AF as advised by the medical staff, tried again, conceived that cycle but miscarried at 6 weeks in June.
Because it was early and I'd only bled for a week we didn't wait to try again and conceived immediately that same cycle 2 weeks from the start of the miscarriage.
Unfortunately despite early scans showing a strong heartbeat and normal growth, a further scan at 10 weeks showed the baby had died at 8w6d and I miscarried naturally at 12 weeks at the beginning of September.
We started trying again in Oct but so far have had no success, however I am 44 so my chances aren't great anyway.
I don't know if the theory is true or not, it seemed to be the case for me earlier last year but who knows what other factors come into play, that theory from highlove's consultant is interesting !
Good luck

My experience was similar to Irishmammybread. It did seem to be like I was more fertile after miscarriage, as it took me a year to fall pregnant with DS1. I got pregant when he was about 9 months, but miscarried at 12 weeks, had 1 period, got pregnant again and miscarried at 8 weeks, had one period, got pregnant and 12 week scan showed baby had died. It was tempting to carry on trying to make the most of the fertility and hope the next one would make it but I physically and emotionally couldn't cope with any more miscarriages!
A friends gynecologist had recommended she wait 3 periods before trying to conceive after miscarriage, I hadn't heard this but given the above it makes sense.
Please don't think this will necessarily happen to you though, lots of women have miscarriages and go on to have a healthy pregnancy, and luckily for me and Irishmammybread, that can even happen after a few miscarriages.

All the best to everyone on here TTC.
