Does anyone's DH work away

Just wondered how many others are in this position - my DH works away for 2 weeks and is home for 3 weeks. TTC is hard enough how can I stop myself from resenting DH's job - a job that gives us a comfortable lifestyle. But also a very empty lifestyle because we can't seem to conceive. I just don't know how to cope anymore it's been a struggle for the last few months - I'm really tired now entering Month 28 of TTC - now DH's work are sending him on a course for 5 days right in the middle of my cycle. I could cry.

That's really hard :-( I don't have any suggestions I just didn't want your thread to go unanswered. I was annoyed when we had visitors staying over Christmas right at my ovulation time, so I can't imagine how frustrating it just be for you. Sending you hugs :)

Thanks Happily Just needed to vent - arghh I keep wondering if this is no I'm going to feel forever. I used to be upbeat and happy now I just feel like crying ever single day. Thanks for the hugs - gratefully received

Can you pay him a visit on the relevant days?

I understand this must be frustrating. We are on cycle 27 and I travel a fair bit for work. By chance, so far all of my trips have fallen at relatively good times, ttc-wise, but I suspect it will be problematic at some point.

Hey Euro - its a 5 hour round trip - thinking about trying to go one night after work but I can't get any time off as my boss is taking holidays. He's to go Mon to Fri but he says he can get the train on Mon night and will be back early evening on the Fri so just going to squeeze in as much DTD in the lead up then on the Mon morning and just b4 he leaves then on the Friday when he returns - maybe if I can finish early on the wed I could meet him. Lol I am actually losing the plot arent I!

Don't worry, that us exactly how I feel and my dh doesn't even work away. I've always been a happy person, but I'm sure the ttc malarky has made me depressed, the only way I can describe it is that I'm constantly walking around in a grey cloud, I permenantly feel like crying :( so dong worry your not alone! It's a bloody hard business this ttc!!!

Yeh Happily you are spot on - its rubbish isn't it. I just keep telling my self every month that this will be my month. Just so frustrated that so many women out there fall pregnant after a few cycles - just can't understand why some of us aren't so lucky.

I know, so many of my friends are pregnant at the moment too and I really am so happy for then but for I find it so hard to be around them and not want to cry. We are starting iui in a few months so I keep telling myself that it won't be too much longer-god help me if it doesn't work. My poor dh is being so good, I don't know how he puts up with me!!! Have you had any investigations yet?

Yes we've had all the the tests and being diagnosed Unexplained Infertility - NHS won't add us to the IVF waiting list until we've been trying for 3 years which won't be until October. Was hoping to start private IVF in the next few months but DH isn't ready to accept we need it so my hands are kinda tied at the moment

My husband works away 3 weeks, home for 3. We tried for a while then I downloaded the my days app so I knew when I was most fertile and fell pregnant. We now have a 6 month old boy.

Someone I know fell pregnant just before the time was up to see the doctor about fertility though. Also, Im sure its better to conceive if you're more relaxed but I know how difficult it is to relax when you really want something.
