Cerazette and ttc

Hi all, happy NY!

This is officially my first post so bear with me...

I took my last pill (cerazette) on 16th Dec and we are now ttc, very exciting ! I have been on it for just over a year and on a different pill prior to that for about 8 years. I thought my periods would restart soon after stopping but nothing yet...

I was planning on waiting for af before ttc but we had unprotected sex on 18th Dec (2 days after last pill). About 5 days later I had some mild, niggling cramping so assumed af was going to arrive. Nothing. I did a PT on 31st Dec (13 days after the unprotected incident!) but BFN. Yesterday (sorry for the detail!) I had stretchy, colurless discharge which is new for me, I'm also noticing more discharge than usual.

Was I too soon in doing a PT (i.e. is there still a chance I could be pregnant and if so when should I test again?)or can I say with certainty that I'm not pregnant? I don't want to get my hopes up and keep testing if there's no chance of a BFP.

Advice welcome ...!

Hi! Mrslaq I am in same boat as you, took last cerazette and 2 days later did the deed thought I would get af few days later but nothing! Waiting to test I think, cerazette is so different for everyone! Read in a few places that 2 days after stopping it you ovulate! Xx

Took me 5-6 weeks after stopping Cerazette for AF to arrive. My cycles went completely back to normal after that. Didn't have any bleeding/spotting at all during the initial 5-6 weeks, which isn't what I expected. I also didnt have any periods at all whilst on this pill, just the occasional bit of spotting. 4 months on I'm still wait for my BFP tho......

Hmm happylass I'm pretty sure AF will come but now it's in my head that I might be pg I can't get it out! Silly I know! Are you ttc #1? Fingers crossed for you xx

that stretchy discharge could be you ovulating.
i took ages to get my period after coming off cerazette - i got really bad pmt for about eight weeks but then after my first period things were pretty regular with a bit of ov pain and what they call 'egg white' mucus at ovulation.
am now four days overdue for the first time ever so waiting and wondering... excited and scared....

Yes natmay I'm TTC #1. Should have also added that I had cramps and niggles at all times of my cycle for about the first 3 months post Cerazette. All stopped now though and just getting them at AF time. But as you said everyone's different and its certainly possible to get pg without even having an AF. Fx for you!

I was on cerazette for 4 years and stopped taking it last march as I'd heard it took several months for your periods to go back to normal and wanted to start TTC after we got married in September. My periods went straight back to my normal 4 week cycle which I was surprised about. As we didn't want any accidents or for me to be a pregnant bride we used condoms until the wedding just in case... except one night in July where we got a bit carried away... I had my hen weekend in mid august and came on whilst away in line with my cycle but the period came and went. Didn't really think too much of it but did a pregnancy test and it was BFP. Did two more tests and they were alsp BFP! Cut a long story short I conceieved on the first time we had unprotected sex after coming off cerazette and am now 24 wks!

I have to laugh at our own stupidity that night, I mean we're really happy that we're going to be parents but we should have known from all the scaremongering you get as a teenager that it only takes once but we were like "sod it, we won't get pregnant the first time..." haha!

Really reassuring hearing everyone's stories,nice to know you're not the only one obsessing over af!!

Natmay, sounds like you're in exactly the same head space as me...I'm trying not to get my hopes up but secretly hoping i might get a BFP. I read today that if you're not sure when your last period was you should test 21 days after unprotected sex...6 days and counting!

Congratulations lindtreindeer! Mrslaq 21 days is such a long time! I don't know I can wait that long! I conceived my dd first time trying after coming off microygyn, my cycles went straight back to normal then but cerazette has thrown me! Plus with her I had a c section so now I'm all panicky what if it doesn't happen blablabla driving myself nuts! Rant over xxx

Hi all, this is my first post & thought I'd add my own cerzette story! Have been with my DH for 12 years & married 2 have been on the pill for many years. Decided I would come off the pill towards end of last year & went to the Gp to get my last 3 months of cilest BUT the Gp said because cilest as increase risk of stroke??? I should try cerzette which I stupidly went along with! Stopped taking cerzette at the end of August so started TTC from then got a Af 28 days later, then 6 weeks later, then 5 weeks, (getting all cocky now) thinking perfect 28 day cycle, Af due last Wednesday was getting nigglely, cramps, feeling nauseous, off my food getting abit of light brown/red dc.. Did a pt yesterday BFN?? Very confused & frustrated I'd rather Af then nothing so I know where I am for next cycle!!! Sorry I've rambled on! Anyone get any advice? x

Well I appear to have conceived whilst taking Cerazette. So I'd say anything is possible!

I stopped taking cerazette 4 weeks ago and started folic acid straight away I had a withdrawal bleed for 3 days then absolutely nothing since. Passed few days I've been so moody I've broke remotes by launching them and moaning about everything just been a angry cow ha I've also been getting dull cramps headaches white discharge tmi and I'm now 3 days late don't know if it's because I stopped taking the pill. Either way when is the best time to do a test x
