I have been lurking about for a while, and decided it was time to say hello.
Is anyone else trying ttc around deployment/waiting due to deployment?
My DH has been deployed to Afghanistan 3 times in the last 2 years, for a total of 11 months in various stints. We have been married for 2 years, and both want to ttc to conceive but I don't want to go through my first pregnancy alone - we have no children yet - and so we were waiting until he got home from this last deployment. However, he has now been told he is going back out next summer for 5 months. That means we either just get on with it, and take the chance of me being due during his deployment, or we wait until he gets home. That means waiting until the end of Nov 2013 which seems an absolute age to me!
I know there is no guarantee we would conceive should we start trying now, and I am also concerned it may take months when he gets home, and we would basically have spent another year waiting for no reason. I am rather frustrated by the whole thing!
Anyone going through/go through your first pregnancy alone for the majority of it?
We also live hundreds of miles from family, so I am fairly isolated where I am if something went wrong during any pregnancy.
Frustrated, it feels like we are just waiting to wait all over again!
