LH Surge After Ovulation

I'm trying to conceive after losing my first baby at 14 weeks in October.
This month I used a Clearblue OPK. I detected a surge but I think it was after I had ovulated as my mucus had dried up and cervix hard. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't temp btw.

Sorry for your loss, that must have been very hard.
No, you should not get a LH surge after you ovulate. What cycle day are you and do you know when you ovulate normally?

Thank you. My cycles are between 29-32 days. I ovulate between day 15-18. I thought I ovulated last Sunday (day 16) morning as my mucus dried up but I got a LH surge on a Clearblue digital OPK Sunday afternoon around mid afternoon. I'm currently on day 23.

I used to get my LH surge one or two days before I ov. The last couple of times I have used OPKs I got it on the same day. Maybe that is what happened to you - you caught the surge on the way down a few hours after ov.

Some people get an LH surge in their luteal phase, especially if their cycles are a bit messed up e.g. due to a loss. I used to get all sorts of weird LH things happen post ovulation after a loss I had at 9 weeks.

Also sometimes the EWCM doesn't come at the same time as ovulation, it can be as much as a week earlier especially again if things are a little messed up. Same goes for the cervix. It can take time for things to go back to normal.

Unfortunately in these circumstances the only way to know for sure if you've ovulated is to take your temperature because other signs could be all over the place.

I am so sorry for your loss :(

Thank you for your responses. I had a lot of EWCM on Friday and took another OPK which came back positive! This was 12dpo so I thought I may have been pregnant. I took another opk the next day and it was negative (13dpo) and today (14dpo). I'm due Christmas day. Any ideas fora out this second surge? Doesn't seem to indicate pregnancy in my case.
