Just wondered how long those in my boat - over 40, TTC No 2, no success, not enjoying DC1's infancy properly Sad as too stressed by absence of DC2 - went or will go before getting help...and by help, I mean of the assisted conception variety. Do we go for IVF after no luck in a year or try just a bit longer?

Watching with interest. I am 41 and have been ttc number 2 for a year. I have had my hormone levels tested and they are ok, but no joy so far. I havent pushed the doctor for any help because over 40 is too old to get it for free and I sort of expect her to say (kindly) But you are Old! What did you expect?
I suppose I will give it another 6 months and then ask - I am assuming I have about a year of half decent fertility in me.
