Personally I could sound like a daft teenager here but after being on Implanon for 12 years I've forgotten all this period and pregnancy lark! Confused

Anyways, myself and OH are trying to conceive at the ripe old age of 39, I had the implant removed in January and periods have been back regular since about June. After a abnormal biopsy in early November I had a punch biopsy a week later and then on the 24th I had to have a loop diathermy. So on the 22nd and 23rd we indulged ourselves knowing we had 4 weeks without sex to look forward to then 4 weeks with condoms Grin

Now my optimum ovulation day is around the 27th/28th of the month, and I usually start my period right on the 9th of the month, but its not here and I show no signs of it. I get a headache just before which persists until its over, but nothing! I have done a test, but it was one of those crappy ones from the pound which I'm guessing arent exactly good quality!

I may well have gone off topic though and rambled so my main question is whether anybody has had missed or delayed periods after a loop diathermy, and should I wait until the 9th January before I test even if this one doesnt appear.
We're trying to make it a hat-trick for my parents as my sister is due in February and my brother in May!
Sorry for rambling, one of my worse habits!

Merry Crimbo all! Xmas Grin

Congratulations!! I had a loop diathermy last December and had a baby last Friday, my consultant said it was fine to ttc straight away.

Thanks for the messages chaps! Smile

Been a strange week, have had 2 negative pregnancy tests since. But have been weeing for England, feel extremely sick and more important AF hasnt been to visit and is 12 days overdue. It's also my 'perfect' time for ovulation but I show no signs of it and I did an ovulation test and got no surge line at all!
Partner thinks the naeseau (sic) is just down to this bug thats been going around but I havent been sick, just constantly queasy. I've gone off food completely, the only thing that does make me feel ill to eat are bread and chocolate, and I love my food!

So its just waiting and seeing now, will try to see gp tomorrow but no doubt that test will be negative as well! I did find out though that things like loop diathermies are very unlikely to cause problems with fertility, periods, etc as they dont actually have any effect on the baby-making equipment! Grin
