mini big big congratulations :-) this is such wonderful news. Enjoy every second, you deserve it!

Waves to all - keeping updated with everyones posts, its just been a mega busy few weeks with work :-)

AFM - thibk weve gone full circle at present in our views on the double donor round. All ready to cycle in August - BUT - we just still have a gut feeling that my eggs aren't dud! Last cycle was the only cycle were I was stimulated harder and we wonder if this affected them. I had a recent pelvic ultra sound and my ovarian reserve is good and this month i have 9right and 8 left follicles lined up if I were cycling. So we've had a review with our consultant and decided we are going to have a go at natrual insemination with our donor sperm in August! Which gives us this month and next month to try natrually. August with effectively IUI but no drugs, just natrual ovulation and then if that fails perhaps another go at it or the double donor round in sept/October! We figure it only delays us by 2 months. I'm 35 so we have a bit of time.

Tell me we are not crazy!! It just seems alot to completely give up on my biological chance based 1 cycle of info! I've o course had 5 in total though!

JuicySausage · 22/06/2013 09:24

Lucky, I would go with your gut feeling at 35. Any older and I would have pointed you toward the stats for 'older' women. Can you find out how many eggs out of ten a thirty five year-old can expect to be duds? I ask this because it would have an impact with a natural IUI ie. if the one egg produced is likely to be a dud you'll be disappointed. Does that make sense? Again, I might be wrong but I think, at 35, only one in three eggs are viable. A stimulated IUI cycle would give you more eggs to choose from. Certainly, at 35, not every one of your eggs will be viable.

Hoophopes · 22/06/2013 09:37

pocket I will be lurking to see how things go for you too!! Can't not see the end of the story of all the lovely people who supported me with my now gorgeous 15mth old!! All the best xx

lucky I a, a great believer in following my own gut instinct. That is why we are not trying IVF for number 2 as I learnt that my issues are all about carrying a pregnancy( immune issues) and although dh's sperm is rubbish it is not impossible. So he is on supplements that we used for the ICSI and I am taking aspirin, 5mg of folic acid and thyroxine ... Sadly had one early mc in 10 months of ttc#2 but now have NHS approval for clexane, steroids and less armies for if I get that far again. Just adding in acupuncture to try to help now. But my eggs are older at 38! Good luck with a few months of different approaches!!

JuicySausage · 22/06/2013 09:38

...just to clarify, Lucky: a stimulated IUI cycle would produce more than one egg and hence more chance of the sperm fertilising a viable one.

Luckystarfour · 22/06/2013 12:30

Thanks lovely ladies keep the thoughts coming.

I really want to try a cycle with no drugs, no stimming! As close to natrual as possible as we've never had this chance with 'normal' sperm and we know from our last cycle that donors sperm is great quality. So just thinking perhaps it might work wonders naturally. We might be prepared to do more than one round of it, so as to overcome the 1 in 3 stats with my eggs. But to be honest from all our embryos - we've had excellent blasts! More than 1 in 3 and none of those have made it - so I'm feeling lets take more of a chance with fate for a few months!

Fortunately another lovely break coming up, two weeks around the French alps - so life aside form the IVF is good and I feel in a good place :-)

gingernutdreams · 24/06/2013 15:01

Hey Lovely ladies! I have now had my 6 week scan and, joy of joys, I saw the little bean! Grin There was the gestational sac, the yolk sac and the little bean with it's blinking heart beat!! It is 4.5mm and right on schedule! I am beyond relieved and v happy. I have to go back for an 8 week scan and then I can be signed off and referred over to my GP to arrange a midwife and the 12 week scan. I think I might be stopping the drugs then too, but we'll see.

I hope all is well with all you lovelies.

It's a pretty amazing moment, isn't it Ginger? Fingers crossed in 7 weeks I will be there :)

CaipirinhasAllRound · 24/06/2013 21:23

That's so exciting ginger!

I had a scan today which showed a cyst they saw last month is still there and bigger so they want me to wait another cycle instead of starting this cycle. They've looking into whether I can do the FET without down regging which would at least mean it's a quicker process but it's the not knowing when everything's going to happen that get's me most. I'll be gutted if I have to still do it the long winded way now I have to wait again to start...

gingernutdreams · 24/06/2013 21:30

Fingers crossed for you too Vall and yeah, it is a super amazing moment, and a first for me. I got a pic of it too, so really chuffed!

Oh Cap I am sorry to hear that. I do hope you can go ahead and have the FET without down regging. Sending hugs your way. xx

Pocket1 · 24/06/2013 22:35

Brilliant news Ginger. I was weaned off the meds from 12 weeks too - but kept up the aspirin until something like 34 weeks - my Nhs consultant was happy for me to continue with that, so do ask about that when you switch over. Look after yourself my love and make sure you put your feet up GrinGrinGrin

vallinnapod · 24/06/2013 22:55

Ginger - Get a pic where you can! I have DS at every stage from ET onwards Grin

Caip how frustrating. I've not been there. Do these things shrink of their own accord?

JuicySausage · 25/06/2013 15:48

NOW I'M BELIEVING!

In the excitement of juicy's news yesterday I forgot to say I had my day 8 scan yesterday. Lining 6.5mm. Patches and progynova upped. Scan Friday.

OP posts:
JuicySausage · 26/06/2013 16:50

Thank you for the congratulations, ladies. The line is considerably darker so can not be the hCG shot from eight days ago, right? Smile

Your lining's going to be fine, Vall. Mine was 8mm at ET but afterwards I was so paranoid when reading about women with juicy 10/11mm linings. I was convinced mine wasn't think enough. I'll bet yours is 8mm by Friday Smile

gingernutdreams · 26/06/2013 17:35

I second what Juicy says Vall, I'm sure your lining will be nice and thick ready for ET this time. I believe

CaipirinhasAllRound · 26/06/2013 19:33

So exciting juicy!

vall the hope is the cyst just disappears by itself. They've said today I can do the shorter version so no down regging! But they also said they'll scan me on day1 and if the cyst is still there I might need it aspirated so that would put it back at least another month.
I'm not very good at paying attention to the detail so no idea how thick your lining should be but lots can happen in a couple of days

vallinnapod · 26/06/2013 21:41

Thanks guys - I have notoriously thin lining so 6.5mm is good. Not sure if I mentioned it but with DS it was 'only' 7.8mm (Or 7.3mm, I can't remember Blush).

Consultant said they will go ahead if I get past 7mm.

So excited for you juicy!

Caip have my fingers crossed. Was quizzing my sonographer about cysts. I didn't realise they release oestrogen, hence their significance.
