I tested a week ago using the test that the clinic gave me and it was negative. So then I got told stop the progestrone and period should follow. All I have had is very light spotting no period and its now been a week later. I have rang clinic to say all this and have been told I should expect a heavy bleed after ivf and if it doesn't come to test again.

I know the logical thing to do would be to test but we are leaving it a few more days. Is this normal or not?? I feel a bit odd, odd cramping going on and at times the nausea is awful. Advice anyone??

If you were pregnant should you be taking other things? The progesterone you mentioned? If so I'd test now, a few more days won't make any difference a week later then you were told, if it was a late implanter it can take a few days longer for hcg to show up, fx for you ifs a happy ending x

If there is a chance of being pregnant, then taking the drugs they gave you to support pregnancy might help?

It's true that supporting progesterone should be taken if there is a chance you could be pregnant and that perhaps you should test sooner rather than later to put your mind at rest.

I'm sorry to say though, you are more likely to be one of those women who take some time to bleed following progesterone supplements. It's possible to start bleeding while still on progesterone, within a day or two of stopping or longer. I have heard of a couple of weeks even. I think that clinics sometimes don't let us know the full range of experiences to prepare us properly for what the outcomes might be. I certainly felt that when I was stimming (it took longer than I realized it could, it was only a matter of a few days but I wasn't expecting it so it was more stressful than it could have been). I'm sorry things didn't work out for you this time (unless I'm wrong, of course, I would be happy to be proven so). I do feel for you, waiting for my period after failed IVF too....
