Concieving again after a c section

We sadly lost our baby boy last week after an emergency c section. I was just wondering if you had a c section how quickly you conceived again. Obviously we will wait until we are ready 'mentally' but the doctors advice of a year is filling me with dread. I'd try again now if I could....

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss firstly. What a terrible time for you. Thinking of you xx

I had a section in April and was told a year however definitely ask a doctor if unsure. I'm sure lots of people will tell you of stories where they have had two closer together though, I guess doctors just have to advise you what's the best scenario.

So sorry for your loss. My.consultant told me 3 months, I conceived at 6 months post csection and I'm nearly 37 weeks now. I did feel nervous at first about the wound but all was fine and I'm even trying for a vbac.

Perhaps make an appointment and go back to discuss? It might depends on individual circumstances.

Best wishes.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My baby girl died aged 2 days following an EMCS on new years eve last year.

My GP told me to wait 6 months but consultant said 3, once results came back from the tests (placenta etc), in the end I conceived after 8 months but had been trying since 3 months (6 cycles). I am now 17 weeks and terrified but am having regular appointments and scans.

We have a 'rainbow babies' thread on here which is full of very supportive ladies who have all lost babies at various stages of pregnancy, and post birth, and is a really supportive place.

Take care and all the best x
