First time IVF with LWC Cardiff. Any advice or info?

Hi everyone. I'm right at th beginning of IVF (planning stages) with the London women's clinic in cardiff. At the moment I'm just waiting to have the routine blood tests and the AMH levels done, then we're hoping to get going at the end of December, though I'm a bit worried as my cycle is due to start on Boxing Day! Can anyone going through/been through IVF give me some advice? What will happen first?

We conceived our son on our first IVF after 6 years of ttc. We were given 1 piece of diet advice - drink 2 pints of milk a day!! Apparently those who do have an increased likelihood of it working - and I'm not going to disagree!

Good luck. It's hard some days, but hopefully will be worth it for you too :-)

I love milk, but it doesn't fit in with my slimming world 250ml a day allowance! Guess slimming world will have to go on the back burner while I fill my boots with lovely milk!
At what point are you supposed to start the milk drinking?

They said it didn't matter if it was full fat, semi or skimmed. Just fresh cows milk. I started after the first appointment, plus they advised going on to a pregnancy diet - no pâté, shellfish, etc. just to get into the swing of things.

I'd put on over 3 stone through comfort eating whilst ttc, but once pregnant only put on another 6lbs - and baby was 6lbs 11oz, so better weight loss programme ;-)

We went to the Nuffield Woking clinic as we live in the New Forest. Best rates of success at the time for my age group outside London.

I've just gone thru round one of ivf. All clinic's do things differently but for me on day 21 I had to start a nasel spray for a couple of weeks before I started my injections. The whole process I think roughly took about six weeks so u should feel fine for xmas. On day 21 I had to do a nasel spray for a few weeks, they call it downregging which basically shuts all the hormones down and then the injections kick start it off again. Feel free to inbox me if u have any questions, I had so many and found mumsnet very useful. I was also lucky, I had a friend who had gone thru it so I had so many questions I was constantly pestering her with.
Just want to tell u good luck and on a brighter note I thought I would find the whole process really really terrible but it wasn't nearly half as bad as I thought it would be xx
