Well when I went to see my gyno last time he gave me a prescription for clomid for 6 months. 50mg per day from cycle day 2 - 6. I got the clomid and started taking it. Now my gyno has messed up a bit and he has sent me another prescription through for 6 months worth of clomid again. The question is should I be naughty and go get the other prescription so should it not work in the first6 months I have more ???? I know its naughty but unsure if its a bad idea or not xx

Would report the prescription mistake to the gynae; clomid should only be used for a max of six months after which other treatments should be tried.

Many PCOSers are given this drug treatment initially but you should be monitored too whilst on it as it is quite powerful stuff. No monitoring is a complete no-no as you have no idea otherwise whether its doing what its supposed to. Also clomid can affect hormone levels markedly so monitoring should be done (clomid resistance can happen with some PCOSers).

Oh right. Im only having day 21 bloods which I had done last month which was the first month on it and I dont see my gyna till feb now x

You should be seen earlier than Feb if you are on clomid. Infact you should be monitored monthly with both blood tests and ultrasounds.

think you should call your consultant's office on this one. Unfortunately not all NHS Trusts will fund monitoring but even my Trust gave one scan.

They dont do scans I did ask and normal procedure is to have day 21 bloods then be seen on 3 month of ttc on clomid x
