ivf..still waiting to know..plz read!!

Hello, its been 12 days since my embryo transfer and we had to test yesterday. Unfortunately we got a negative result but I still haven't had my period. I know I'm clinging to just a tiny glimmer of hope but is it possible I still could be pregnant but its still too soon to know.
I have felt different this past week and thought I was so sure we had finally got there but unfortunately it's not looking good. Can u tell me if the clinic will do a blood test just to make sure or will I have to just carry on testing :( xx

Hi there, so sorry you got a negative. What day transfer did you have? Have you spoken to your clinic and given them the result yet? When I had my ivf cycle I was told to test 16 days after egg collection, it was negative, told the clinic and they asked if my period had come yet. It hadn't but they told me to stop the progesterone and my period would come within the next few days, which it duly did. Sometimes the progesterone can keep your period away. I'd take advise from your clinic. All the best x

I had a day 5 transfer, unfortunately our clinic is not open til tomorrow, just sitting and wondering until I speak to them. I've pretty much admitted defeat tbh, we'll just have to dust ourselves down..enjoy xmas and prepare for round two nxt year. Sorry you got a negative too, life is pretty tough sometimes isn't it xx

It is very, very tough indeed, sounds like all you can do is wait to speak to your clinic tomorrow x

Thankyou, yes mother nature is very mean! I'm not alone in feeling like this tho but you build your hgopes up so hign because you know you had an embryo go in and then to fail it hits u harder xx
