Hi, I've got PCOS and irregular periods/no clear ovulation signs and I am getting desperate am wondering if it's worth trying anything like this. Has anyone tried these types of things with success? Thanks

Hi, I also have PCOS but have not tried any of the things you mention. The one thing I will say is don't self-medicate. If you want to try something like this, consult with a professional health practitioner. I've heard of lots of women suffering side effects from Agnus Castus, so would be very wary of using it.

Thanks frankel - have you tried the PCOS diet or anything else that's helped? How long have you been ttc?

I've been TTC for 2 and a half years now. I have "skinny" PCOS which means I am not over-weight and, other than suffering from adult acne, do not exhibit any other outward signs of the condition.

I've had 5 months of Clomid which failed and am now undergoing ovulation induction which involves injecting myself with FSH on a daily basis.

Hi LondonBaby - I did chinese herbs (tea) and acupuncture for 6 months before trying to conceive - and it made a huge difference. I'd had PCOS and wildly irregular & heavy periods for years and had been lately diagnosed with endometriosis too but found docs useless. After around 4 months periods settled into a regular cycle and after 6 months was virtually symptom free. Am now 23 wks pg! Agree you should definitely use someone who knows what they are doing, my chinese doc does some work through the Herbal Inn chain as well as privately so that might be a place to start looking, and she also advised on diet, ie limit sugar etc. Good luck!

I'm skinny PCOS too, snap about the acne. Have my HyCoSy scan soon to see if my tubes are clear eek. Did you have that checked? Bit nervous about it. Someone told me she managed to control her PCOS and ovulate through exercise, totally low GI diet and no alcohol Sad not sure whether there is any hope of controlling it like that for that for us skinny girls?

What tea was it vix? Will look into that chain, thanks - did you give up anything other than sugar?

Yes I had my tubes checked, uncomfortable and undignified but not painful. I think the same as you about the diet, and am not sure it would actually be of much benefit to the likes of us!
